i know someone who had this done, and had some weird pigmentation that looked like bruising about almost half a year. Also keep in mind that it wont all go away after one or two sessions. its a gradual process, especially with pubic hair. good luck! and dont let that scare you because everyones body reacts to things differently.

Regarding time frame, how long do you think it would take for the entire hair removal to be over with?

I've been thinking about doing this for quite some time, but I don't know anyone that has had ever had it done before so I was uncertain on everything.

lucy10 @joyf: I have had laser hair removal in bikini area, also on legs and underarms.I would say, go for it. I no longer have to shave my legs all the time, and no black little stubble all the time. The bikini area, I had done in a sorta of a landing strip, but sort of like a triangle. It looks great. I love it. Although, I have to warn you, it takes several sessions. I went one month for the legs, and the next month for the bikini area and underarms. Although it took almost two years and a lot of money, I say it was well worth it. Some hairs may come back, and you may need a maintenance like once a year to be completely the way you want to be, but, I absolutely love it in all the areas. I am very happy with the results and would do it again.

Hi I had laser hair removal under my arms and am now doing it on my bikini area....I LOVE IT!!!!!....it took about 7 sessions for under the arms approximatly 6-8 weeks apart,so close to a year. The treatments sting a bit but not very long and the regrowth is pretty slow,my second to the last session I didnt have to shave for 5 weeks it was great. The bikini area seems to be working even better! I paid for 6 sessions and am hoping thats enough.the cost was $360 for underarms and $600 for bikini area.My biggest regret is that I didnt go for it sooner.I get ingrown hairs and razor burn so it is so worth it not to have to worry about being a hairy girl at the beach if you know what I mean...I say go for it!!!

You said it cost you $600 for bikini area and $360 for underarms. Was that your total amount of cost for the entire laser treatment? I don't know how many treatments I'll need on my bikini area and then on how many treatments on my face, but I don't care anymore...
I have to do this for me. Was that entire cost for everything?

Laser Hair Removal

Postby Dragonfly64 » Sat Jun 10, 2006 8:21 pm

This is my first post, so bear with me...

I've had laser hair removal on my face. I paid about $1300.00 for 6 treatments...plus a 2 year maintenance that begins when the last of the 6 is done.

It is so worth it. I had major facial hair and I onoy wish I'd done it decades ago.

Mine is being done at American Laser Center.

That's what I think I need done first is my face. Then I'll go for my bikini area. But I have facial hair that disgusts me that I have to deal with every morning. I did electroloysis(however you spell it) for several months years ago on my face in another state, but never continued here in Texas.
Laser treatments I was told worked great for my face. I'll do that first. Then bikini area next. Not many people have to worry about it on their face, do they? It disgusts me, and I have to use a razor to remove it every morning to keep it smooth. So, my face will be first.
How long were your laser treatments on your face per treatment?

Laser Hair Removal

It only takes a few minutes...maybe 10 to do your face. I go about every 5-7 weeks. The face package was 6 sessions with the 2 yr maint. They'll tell you how many sessions are typical for each region. I have the perfect skin type for it, which is fair to medium skin and dark brown hair.

Some places will have a printed "menu" for each region of the body. I found the Am. Laser Center vague at times on prices. They "cut me a deal" when I hemmed and hawed about doing it. Also, they financed it through a credit card co. they deal with. Basically no interest if I paid it off in 11 months. Which was no biggie. I did that instead of putting it on one of my cards and paying the interest.

my total was around 960 for 6 treatments of each bikini and underarms, they threw in an extra treatment for arms and knocked the price down a bit cause i hemmed and hawed a bit. My sister has a mustache(her hair is a tad more noticable than mine) and she wont even try it ,she just shaves or nairs it .She thinks it will hurt, and it does for a couple of seconds,oh and she has had 4 children.I would do my whole body if I was rich. :D

I am on 3rd laser treatment for bikini and underarm...will get the 4th Wedenesday. The first 2 treatments, the hair hardly even grew back in, especially in the underarm region. She warned me that it would seem like it wasn't working between these 2 treatments and she was right. I am shaving again. I'll let you know how it turns out. The cost was $795.

Hello again,

Yes, you can shave between treatments. That is the best part of laser removal. They need you to shave it close to do the treatment. Letting it grow out was what always kept me away from electrolosis. Just don't tweeze. You want the hairs that are lying dormant to come out between treaments so they can get zapped.

I'd laser my whole body if I'd just win that darn lotto!
