How is SHR Compared to Lasers and IPL for Hair Removal?

SHR stands for Super Hair Removal, a state-of-the-art technology of permanent hair removal which is specially designed to remove unwanted hair faster and more comfortably than ever before. It is absolutely pain free to give you a pain free treatment, including in the most sensitive areas.

The system combines laser technology and the benefits of the pulsating light method achieving practically painless results. SHR fires multiple shots but at low Joules, in doing so it gently heats the hair follicle to the heat needed and the most you will feel is warmth and a tingling sensation, some clients comparing it to a warm massage. The treatment is more pleasant than with the conventional systems and your skin is better protected.

Traditional laser or IPL technologies employ short impulses. Energy is transported to the hair root through melanin. Skin and red blood cells have a similar absorption coefficient as melanin and therefore also absorb the high levels of energy produced by the laser and IPL methods. This can lead to swelling lasting several days or even to third-degree burns.

SHR technology, on the other hand, utilizes the melanin path only partially. Skin is penetrated down to the follicles which produce hair growth. SHR gently transports the energy through the skin and through the melanin to the hair follicles. SHR enables the successful treatment of blonde and, in part even white hair, given that the hair pigment is only secondary.

SHR is suitable for all skin types, even tanners, this is achievable because of the technology and techniques utilized. Unlike traditional Laser and IPL, SHR can be had all year round without having to hide from the sun. Like all hair removal, hairs that are dark work the best, however with SHR there is generally a better result of up to 50% on blonde, red and fine hairs and in some cases more.

SHR is the closest treatment to absolute permanent hair removal. Even hairs which until now have been difficult or even impossible to be removed, can now be treated.
