Laser hair removal and yeast infections

Laser hair removal and yeast infections

Postby Prettyprincess » Thu Nov 25, 2010 5:18 pm

I've gotten a brazillian laser hair removal done about 4 times now. 3 out of the 4 times I've ended up with a yeast infection. I've not experienced any yeast infection problems until now. Could it be possible that the laser is causing them? I've spoken to my family Dr and the Dr performing the laser procedure and both of them said that the laser wouldn't cause a yeast infection. I just find it strange that each time it has happened to me, I got an infection roughly 1 week afterwards.
If there is anybody who can help me with this it would be greatly appreciated.
Thankyou

No I totally agree. I also NEVER had a single yeast infection until I got laser hair removal. I was told that the laser doesn't go deep enough below the skin to do that but I can put two n two together. About three weeks after my initial treatment I got the first infection n then every month after. I stopped treatment for almost s year n they gradually got better. Last month I resumed treatment n now have my first infection in about six months.
