Laser making facial hair worse?

Laser making facial hair worse?

Postby jansun » Tue Aug 14, 2007 1:41 pm

I went for my first consultation yesterday, and the lady I met with advised me not to do my entire face. She said in cases where the hair is not coarse, the laser can actually cause additional growth and when it does that, the laser will no longer even work on that hair or area. She said that I would have a 50/50 chance of my face ending up even worse than it is now! Has anyone heard this or had this problem before? Now I am really scared to get it done...(she said it was only the face that had this problem)

joy where did you go? I ask because american laser center told me that around the 3rd or 4th treatment on my legs it could seem like more hair is growing because the laser stimulated it. BUT they said it would then start to get better. This all makes me wonder about the validity of some of the places you can go out there.

It will permanently damage your face. I have had over 50 treatments on my face initially trying to get rid of my sideburns but now I have horrible hair all over my neck, cheeks and around my eyes. Don't do it. It stimulated hair in areas where I had absolutely none before.
The laser beauticians are complete idiots and they have ruined me forever I am permanently damaged by their incompetence and am about to sue.
And it's not just the face, I had my arms done once and where there was fair hair it made it longer, thicker and blacker.

If anyone else has had this problem please contact me.

I had one treatment with the yag laser on my chin and for 5 weeks no hair at all. It is starting to come back very little right now. My dermatologist does it. I ever heard about it stimulating hair.

Hello ladies!
I have a friend that is a guy who referred me to nurse who did his laser. His results are great and his skin is beautiful. He had 10 treatments and it has been almost 2 years since his last treatment. I went to the same nurse yesterday and she lasered 4 small test spots to see how my skin react to laser, I go back in 2 weeks. She said that I was a good candidate and I will do well.
Wish me luck!
