Hi Jaelynn,

Please dont be disheartened! its day seven for me now and I am coming on in leaps and bounds! I am thrilled with my skin although obviously still red and a little crusting, but I am comfortable and I can see improvement every day.My advice is be prepared for the first few days,I wasnt, ask your doctor before surgery if you have any concerns,I used ice packs because my eyes were very swollen, but ask your doctor, sleep upright, not easy but it does help the swelling, after the first couple of days I bathed my face and applied lots of vaseline, then when you bathe again the crusting loosens and comes off.I think everybody has different recovery times but I wastold 14 days downtime and I cant see it being any sooner, although my skin is looking better there is no way I can go out yet,but you may be different.I will be thinking of you tuesday, let us know how you are doing :)

Thanks, Vintage Chick!
I did all my homework, but you know how it is; the closer it gets the more worried I become! Let me ask you, did you sleep on a wedge pillow to keep propped up? Did your husband freak out when he saw your face? Thanks for the encouragement, it was just what I needed.

Hi Jaelynn,

I didnt think beforehand to buy a wedge pillow but it would have been a good idea,I just stacked my pillows upright and tried to stay as upright as I could, its really only for the first few nights,be sure to use some old pillowcases because your skin is kind of messy at first, the vaseline gets everywhere! did myhubby freak when he saw me? well initially you dont look that bad, which i think is what gave me a false sense of security! my skin looked a little red,but not too bad and they had put dressings on my cheeks and forehead,it was the next day that I was not prepared for,i had a lot of swelling which they later told me was normal, but yes we both freaked!! I think you are better informed than we Brits, our doctors tend to tell you the basic facts and thats it,my one complaint is that I didnt have enough information beforehand,if I had I would have coped much better, that being said, today 7 days along,I feel great! I am totally fascinated with this new pink skin,I am 47 years old and I feel like I am being given a second chance, also I have been drinking lots of water which i feel is helping, actually the one piece of advice they did give me was to take more water on board for a couple of days before surgery.Good luck honey I am sure you will be fine.xx

Well, its day 9 for me now and I cant believe how quickly my skin is recovering! this time a week ago I was very swollen and my skin was crusting, today I am no longer using the vaseline but a regular moisturiser and only a few very small scabs remain, however,as the swelling has gone down I am noticing the reappearance of my acne scarring :( my dermatologist did say it wouldnt go away completely but would be less obvious, cant help being a little dissapointed I was kind of hoping for a miracle! my dermatologist also did say that the improvements continue for up to a year? does anyone know if it is possible that my scarring will even out over that time? Anyhow, other than that I am so far happy,I think it has definately improved my forehead area :)

My co2 peel was 3 months ago. It seemed successful but little things have begun to happen...my right eye has become v dry, I have now got a pinhole in my forehead and there's a scar under my right eye. She treated the scar w a steroid injection but it's still there. I'm starting to really worry that more undesirable after effects will keep occurring!!
I did this on a whim to remove sun damage and superficial wrinkles...I wonder if the pinholes will keep showing up and/or will they go away?? I was told I was a perfect candidate for this procedure but am wishing I'd never done it!
