Recently Lasered!!!! Don't know what to expect

Friends-
3 days post-procedure from a full face/neck Fractional C02 laser treatment. I was not as informed as I should have been and am now learning real time about the after care. As you might imagine, I am swollen, red to the point of appearing purple and now itching to the point of driving myself crazy.

Can someone explain to me the "peeling stage". I believe this itch is a pre cursor to this next stage. I am washing my face several times a day as suggested and am noticing a grainy molting. Although being as careful as possible, during the gentle course of washing with a mild cleanser, I end up unearthing a whole lot of graining debrie that I assume is skin. Am I right or is this the "crusting" that is mentioned as a part of the post-op symptoms? Will there be actual peeling in the next few days, peeling as you would have with a sunburn where layers of skin come off?

I was not prepared for this recovery. Saturday will be 1 week post-procedure and I can't see my self going anywhere this weekend.
Any advice regarding the peeling or other aspects of recovery would be very much appreciated.
