Sad, in pain and desperate for advice

Postby gayley » Mon Oct 05, 2009 2:00 am

I had my first BA back in 93, taking me from a saggy b cup to a full DD....Complications set in the left breast (cc) a couple of years ago and I returned to my surgeon for advice...
I told him I would like the left implant changing to resolve this, in his opinion though I had developed considerable drooping, and an exchange was not an option, only a full lift....I also mentioned I would like to go a little smaller as id lost a considerable amount of weight since the original BA due to a gastric band I had fitted in 94.....and looked a little top heavy as a result....He agreed it would be a good idea, gave me the cost of almost £6000, and to go away and think....
I would have been satisfied with just an implant swap, but he was adamant I wouldn't be happy with the outcome as droop would only reoccur, and Id eventually have to endure the lift anyway....
After much talking with the hubby, (whose main concern was just to have the CC taken care of)...we decided to go for it...
I was given a date for the week after, but during that week I started to have second thoughts regarding the size...did i want to go smaller after all?? I rang his secretary 3 days before surgery and told her my concerns...and that I had decided i wished to remain the same size as I was currently.....as i knew id regret it later on....She rang me a day or so later and said that no, he wants to proceed with fitting the smaller implants discussed at consultation, that they would only differ by 3mm in projection....and that a narrower implant would be better for my chest wall....I reluctantly agreed and trusted my surgeon enough, as id been delighted with his work thus far....

Surgery went ahead as planned, he said he was pleased....to go home recuperate....and that id be delighted with the end result....
Almost 4 months down the line....Im in lots of pain....developed terrible wound breakdown in both breasts under the crease....had to travel back and forth to the hospital for dressings (an hr each way) 3 times a week....love life...none to speak of.....and so on......
My boobs look a mess.....lumpy, one bigger than the other...my initial breast op i had to have 2 different sized implants to make them symmetrical.....I wonder, had he took this into consideration with the new implants???....They appear flat, droopy, small...and well....a mess basically.....My bras and clothes now hang off me.....Im just so desperately unhappy with the results of this surgery......

I have an appointment with him tomorrow....he is such a busy guy (and president of BAPPS) hes a great guy,,,but sometimes you feel quite "rushed"....Id just love the opportunity to get the above across to him.....I want scar revision (which he said hed perform if he found it necessary)...but my burning question is this....would he exchange the implants for the larger size id requested? or would that no longer be possible due to the reduction? like i said earlier....I have lots of loose skin...so im hoping and praying he will say theres room for a bigger implant......its my birthday also tomorrow...(not that thats important) but sooooo hoping for good news to prevent a crappy day.....Thank you soooo much in advance for any advice on the above.....Kindest Regards.....Gayle xx

This is a very complicated case and giving advice without a physical exam would not help you.
