Will results of ETT change if I lose 20-30 lbs post-op??

Postby Dollynomore » Mon Mar 30, 2009 7:44 pm

I am scheduled for a ETT in 4/09 and will need to lose another 20-30 lbs post-op, I wanted to know if this will change my ETT results (will I have loose skin again afterwards) or not? By the way most of my weight is in my lower body and my stomach doesn't have much fat, but mostly extra skin. Thank you for time :D

Typically up to 20 pounds is not significant enough but any more might be an issue unless, as you say there is little fat in your abdominal area. In this situation I place the umbilicus alittle higher with the plan of tightening the skin 6 months later. This technique works extremely well and allows for lowering of the scar.
