I had a dental block and Juvenderm injected into my lips on Sunday. My lips were terribly swollen on Sunday. I iced them on Sunday and all day yesterday. I am too embarrassed to go out in public as it looks like someone beat me up, my top lip is bruised and the bruise runs up under my nose. My lips feel like the swelling is going down but the bruising is horrible. Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas to reduce the swelling and bruising? I only had one vial injected, mostly into my top lip. I want to enjoy my lips. How long do I have to stay in hiding?? Thanks!!
I can totally relate. I had Restylane injections yesterday. The right side of my lip is bruised as well as very swollen and bruised above it. I try to hide it with make up but it shows through mid morning. ughh! Looked online for solutions after the fact and have not found any. Looks like old fashioned ice is all we have. Maybe someone will respond that can actually help us. My bruise is purple. Which means I have to go through the red then green then yellow stage!!! The price for beauty...
When I had Juvederm put into my NL folds about a year ago I looked horrible, I was horrifically bruised and looked like I got hit in the face with a truck. It doesn't help that I'm an easy bruiser.
I just got Juve in my upper lip yesterday along with a dental block, and to prepare for the bruising, went to my local health/natural food store, and bought a vial of Arnica Montana pellets because I've read so much about them here. I started taking them the morning of my appointment, and today, although my upper lip is swollen, I don't have even a tiny speck of a single bruise.
So I am now a fan of Arnica, and it worked amazingly for me to prevent bruising!
Swelling lasts a few days to a coupla weeks, depending upon the patient.
i used to have bruising until I started using Arnica montana. Now I get filler as needed and don't have to worry about bruising anymore.
One vial?? mostly into you lip??? this sounds like overfill. I had overfill before from a BCPS, and I had to hide my eyes for 5 months before I finally went to a derm who injected vitrase to get rid of some of it. now i look great again!
but ideally they should use less than a tube for the whole face. One tube should be plenty do your whole face, NL folds, side of mouth, top lip, divets, . Putting that much in one area doesn't sound good. It is hard to find a good dr to do this. I suggest going to your local medical school. these drs are in training and do a perfect job, are conservative, and since it is a school it is cheaper. this is where I go from now on for great results.
