Hey,
I had fat graphing to the lips on May 4th. It was an interesting experience! You can't drink from a glass or straw. Was only able to drink from my water bottle and that wasn't easy. Make sure you have some vasoline or something to keep the lips moisturized because they will be very dry. I didn't leave the house for a week and then only to go for my PO. It was 2 weeks before I felt presentable. Loved them at that point but they soon lost their plumpiness. Was able to drink from a glass after that. I'm disappointed that it didn't last after the whole ordeal. I may have retained 10 to 20 percent. Just enough so the lip area sticks out a bit rather then flat. Would I try it again......you betcha! Next time more aggressive plus I'll know what to expect and how to handle it. If I can be of any help just PM me.

Good luck,
BooP

Yep I too had a LA via FT, and did not last for me... I was able to use straw to drink as often as I liked, and baby plastic spoons to eat tiny bites with, due to not able to open mouth wide and it hurt to poke lips with fork...

I did end up with an infection 5 days PO to have to have sx again to remove the infection, it healed up quickly --- I loved my results FRESH PO, but did not last, I plan to have implants placed at some point... My PS says NO to FT again to lips...

Best to you,

Thanks girls for both replies. I went yesterday for my pre-op. Surgery is scheduled for July 14. I voiced my concerns to PS that I have heard results dont last or are minimal. He said it will be lasting and I wont have to do lip injections again. He is taking strips of fat from my cheeks while he is doing my face lift and putting them in lips. He also said my lips will be extrememly swollen for up to 3 weeks and recovery is not pleasant. So I'll share with you my experience!

Happy 4th of July weekend :D

I had fat grafting last July. They looked absolutely fabulous after two weeks of extreme discomfort and then deflated to nothing within another two. I went back to my PS and he scheduled another surgery gratis. This time they lasted one week. I think I've retained 5% but that's significantly less than I had hoped for.

I had the FT a few months ago. I was told it might last, but as many others experienced it didn't. The first 2 weeks I looked like a duck. The next 2 weeks my lips were perfect, and the next 2 weeks they started to deflate. By 6 weeks there was no FT left.
After the FT deflated. I had the implant with some skin grafts. I had a neck lift and my PS used some of my skin as an implant. That was last Feb. I'd say I retained maybe 20% of the graft. My top lip faired much better than my bottom lip. I'd like to do the bottom lip, but I'm outa skin!

I've been going for Juviderm with good results lasting about 9 months.

This sounds interesting since I like the natural approach but the results don't seem to last as long or do they?

Are you awake for this procedure?
