Juvederm Lip Injections

Postby XNatNat » Sun Mar 25, 2012 4:20 am

I'm really looking into getting Juvederm lip injections but have never had anything like this done before. I have some questions

What is the ballpark price-range I'm looking at?

Are there any common side effects to Juvederm (besides swelling)

How do I find a good doctor for the procedure? I've found Dr Pearl in Mountain View, CA and he has good reviews for other procedures but nothing for lip injections though he does them. His site has before/after photos but again nothing for lip injections. How do I know if his work is good?

Sorry if these are all stupid beginner questions, I just don't know where to start!

I think these are great questions that many people are curious about.

The average cost of lip enhancement is about $850. Juvederm does have some side effects which can include lumpiness, itching and bruising. But these are temporary.

I think you are right to look for before/after photos of actual lip enhancement procedures. These treatments depend on a lot more than just injecting filler into the lips. The doctor has to be well versed in proportions and symmetry. Some physicians over inject certain sections of the lip, causing the results to look awkward. So it is as much an art as it is a science.

The patient had Juvederm injected into her lips for a very natural looking result.

Also you might want to keep in mind that Juvederm comes in different consistencies. A firmer consistency will give more dramatic looking results. So this is something else to consider.

Hi,
I've had juvederm lip injections for the first time abot 15mo. ago & am just now going back in for round 2. :) I LOVED how long the results lasted... I was told they would last around 6mo., and though they slowly went down over time-- I'm just now to the point where I need to get it done again. Okay, "want" to get it done again. :)

I didn't have any bruising with mine-- the swelling for me lasted about 7-9 days. I had an event to go to 7 days later and personally was self concious all night wondering if people could notice. She did go heavy above my lip (which caused that lovely "duck look" for the first 2wks), but then it went down and I LOVED the results. I did form a "bubble" on the inside of my lip which just went away a few months ago but it wasn't visble or a bother...

I had botox & the lip injections at the same time and it was under $900-- but I think it also depends on your area. Botox at my PS is only $10/unit.

Best of luck. I go in today... I have a special event next Weds., so hoping the swelling is down enough. :) We shall see....

Thank you Sephora and Sassy for your detailed posts. I'm also thinking about a procedure like this and I'm afraid a little of the needles :D, but I've heard that it's not something that really bad.

Thanks for sharing Sassy and Sephora. I've been considering Juvederm as well. It's nice to hear about experiences from others who have done it already.
