Uneven lips after Juvederm? Melbourne recommendation?

Postby coco80 » Sat Sep 29, 2012 4:58 am

Hi all,

After several years of deliberation I recently decided to try Juvederm for the first time. I timed it with a move to a new city as I thought it was the perfect time to suddenly have my lips grow without it being so obvious to everyone I know. I went to a highly recommended practitioner in Sydney and after waiting two weeks for all the swelling to settle I was still quite lopsided and uneven. I flew back to Sydney for a check up with the practitioner and she was fantastic, topping my lips up at no cost to even them up. A week later (so three weeks in), they are still a little lopsided. Not nearly as bad as when I first got them done, but I can definitely see it. I was also encouraged to massage regularly to get rid of lumps, but I fear I may have contributed to the unevenness and if anything, made them look more lumpy. Also, when my mouth is closed they almost look perfect (apart from the slight size difference between right and left), but when I open my mouth I think my lips look like they have a few dips and troughs in them, and a slight droopy bit hanging down on the top right that makes it a little bit obvious I've had fillers when I open my mouth.

But am I being too much of a perfectionist? I would love to hear from others who have had Juvederm as to whether you had to go through a trial and error period, and if you're completely happy with your shape. If I was in the same city as my practitioner I'd just pop back in to see her, but after paying for flights once to return to see her, I wonder if I'm chasing something that she might not be able to achieve. I do love that the result to date is really natural and I have complete faith in her, and if I could just iron out some of the kinks I know I would be 150% happy. Alternatively, would anyone have a recommendation for someone wonderful I could see in Melbourne? I really should have thought through the whole interstate issue more thoroughly, but I was just so excited to be able to give it a go without the game being given away to all my Sydney friends that I didn't think about having to return more than once to get it perfect!
