30m - Considering Neck Lipo

Hey guys,

I also posted over in chin/jaw implants, which is a separate consideration. Do you think neck lipo would work for me? Any advice?

Your neck and under chin area certainly would benefit by being debulked. However, hard to say from here if all the excess bulk is from superficial fat (which lipo gets), deep fat , loose muscle, ptotic salivary glands and a list of other variables which lipo can't get. If it's the latter, a 'deep cervicoplasty' which is a much more involved operation deep to the superficial platysma muscle could be considered.

Is this something that can be determined at a consultation or is it unknown until the procedure is actually underway?

I have a consultation in a couple weeks (with Dr. Stella Desyatnikova in case anyone has experience with her). Is there anything in particular I should be asking?

Thanks for your reply!

Unknown until the procedure is underway BUT the doc has to be poised and conversant in that complex neck work and not all PSs are.

I had my consultation and the PS said that she thought the bulk around my neck area looked primarily like glands/muscle and was genetic and that lipo would only have a small effect. Does that jive with what you think she could know just from touch and inspection?

She said she'd recommend doing some chin and jaw fillers and that may balance things out, but I'm not sure. Any thoughts?

The observation jives precisely with what I initially told you it could be where all bulk may not be only superficial fat. However the suggestion by the doctor does not really jive with me.
