My PS prescribed steroids for 3 days to reduce swelling. Did anyone take them. Did they help. What about natural herbs to reduce swelling?

No, but I have read many women take Bromelain for swelling. You can also eat pineapple...

I am on steriods now, by accident. I had a scar extension on my TT four days ago, but I had a wicked bad reaction to the tape, so I just started steriods again. I hope it helps with swelling also, as my hips are super swollen.

I'll post an update to in a few days to share.

I think Bromelain helped me a little with my swelling and you can buy it here or at health food stores.

To reduce pain, I think it's much better since it was also used as anti-inflammatory.

Well, I have to say, I think the steriods may help with swelling. My revisions swelling went down FAST (I am still a little puffy, but it's minor). I dropped the 5 pounds I went up after my revision and am down an extra pound. It took months to loose the water weight from the original surgery, so perhaps the Prednisone I was given for my rash did help with swelling.

I have barely any swelling, so I believe the 3 days of steroids must have helped a lot....

Hey Everyone,
I am not sure if steroids help to reduce swelling, but natural herbs and the vitamins shown below significantly help with swelling, bruising, and help speed up the recovery process. Also, minimizing salty foods can make a big difference. Reducing the amount of caffeine can also help. Make sure you Add more fresh fruits and vegetables and go for lean meats. Proper nutrition will not only minimize the incidence of swelling but it will also cleanse your body so that it is functioning at its best :D . Make sure that your body is prepared physically for the change. Therefore taking pre-op vitamins and making other diet changes is really important. Trust me :D .

Here are a couple must haves
