Hello everyone-
I usually post over at the tt board but this is stricktly a lipo question? How long until I see any results? It's almost as if I had NO lipo done at all. I had hips/flanks/inner knees/inner thighs. I have been wearing my garment religiously and have seen no change. I need hope that I didn't waste my money!

Hi Cindy.. I've on the TT board now too, but I had lipo of saddlebags and flanks in April. I could see a countour change immediately. I think it took 4-6 weeks for the swelling to go down enough to measure it.. I think my final results by 3 months.
I usually post on the TT board, too. I can honestly say that the TT is much more dramatic of a result than the lipo I had done to the inner & outer thighs. The first 2 weeks, I really noticed a difference in how my pants fit so much better in the thighs, but I think I've put on a little thigh weight since then. I must still have some swelling though, cause they are still sore, especially when I sleep on my side. The lipo was much more painful to me than the TT. My ps said it can take up to a year for lipo to smooth out & have the final results show.
(I don't know why my info to the left here says I joined Dec 1....heck, I've been on & off of here since August. Oh well, maybe I need to edit my profile...)
Kelly,
Lipo is the BIG surprise in recovery as it takes a good 6 months for most of the swelling to go awya. While you can expect to see some good results on average around 3 months you 'll notice changes for a full 12 months. How many cc's did you have out?
For myself I wore my garmetn for 5 months and every time the stage 2 garment became easier to get on at all I would order the next smaller size. Also lymph massage will greatly aid your recovery or endermologie when you are around 4 weeks po.
Here is what I posted last year about my lipo experience:
Lipo:
I sometimes think the early days post lipo are the easiest because you expect some type of discomfort but one does not expect the prolonged soreness.
What will happen to most is the following post lipo:
day 10-14-hard,lumpy, firm areas will be found where you had lipo-some describe it as a kind of ropey feeling too in spots..especially inner thighs and belly
2 weeks on-periods of intense itching...it is the nerves regenerating..not much helps..it makes you sorer to scratch..lotions will only give you a few minutes relief....sometimes very hot showers will help....itching can come and go over the next 4-5 months
stiffness, tightness in moving-occurs in inner thighs, and under arms and neck areas lipo'd...gentle stretching and massaging helps-can last 4-5 months and changes daily
Swelling..one day good...next day a lot of swelling-this occurs up to 6 months and often up to a year...no rhyme or reason. Compression garments help a LOT with this
numbness of skin-can last up to 6-12 months...itching occurs when feeling starts to come back
lipo of inner/outer thighs/flanks/hips-incredibly sensitive to sit or turn from side to side as when in a bed and also to sit on toilet-lasts about 4 months.
A lot depends on how much you had done but seems to be the average for many here.
And..is it worth it? YES YES YES!!!!!!!
I really believe that it's important to note that there is NOT a standard healing for every "BODY".
Some women are already at their ideal weight & have only gotten a small amount of lipo done & may see results within the first few weeks. They may also have already been very active & not resorting to lipo or PS without first attempting to get their bodies in shape. Not everyone has had such an extensive amount done to the point that they are now 10 sizes smaller than before which I truly feel should be pointed out when women come & post that they'd like to know how long it's going to take or what their healing is to be like.
When you're in that first week -10 days you're not just physically out of it, but mentally very fragile (I'll speak from where I was in my first week) and for me, sitting & reading that it was possible that I'd be that way (swelling to be 2 sizes bigger than pre-op) for nearly a year was NOT what was comforting or came to be true thus far in my personal process.
So having said all of this, it's not to take away from anyone's advice or responses to others in need of information, yet to be a little more cautious as to the disclaimer of EVERY BODY'S BODY will heal in it's own way/time based upon ALOT of FACTORS. We're all here to share our own personal experiences, but it can be pretty terrifying to those whom are in the midst of the worst part of the healing process to read some of the info out here.
Your mind is a powerful tool, which shouldn't be overlooked in your physical healing process either.
Seeing results in liposuction can take time. Many patients who have little fat to remove take months to see results. If you were operated via a "wet" technique, then fluid was injected into the areas treated before the removal of fat began. This fluid and post-operative swelling often make small liposuction patients look like they have gained fat within a few days of surgery.
The larger cases see some reduction immediately. The smaller cases often take a few months (sometimes six months) to see any real results.
As long as you were not intent upon the loss of weight pre-operatively, had fat the remove and were treated competently, you should see results eventually.
I share your exact concerns - I had my lipo done on 11/14 so I'm in the same stage of recovery. I'm wondering why some people had their lipo done and saw immediate dramatic results that only improved over time. I had a large volume procedure done yet my results were not immediately apparent at all.
I went to your website and I saw your photos - your tummy tuck looks fantastic! And I can see a noticeable difference on your upper inner thighs in your photos before and after - its not dramatic, but it was evident enough to me through the pics.
Thanks for posting and I hope you continue to heal okay.
I had lipo done 3 months ago only to see very minimal results, certainly not the kind of results I was expecting after spending $6K! I had back, tummy, flanks and inner thighs done. I'm really upset yet I do know that the dr said that full results usually show at about 4-6 months, but at this point, I'm wondering why I see very little change...Help!
