Impossible to Lose Weight Post Liposuction

Postby Blondie99 » Wed Feb 08, 2017 8:51 am

I am 5'1 142 pounds. Approximately two years ago I was 5'1 130 pounds and underwent upper and lower abdominal smart liposuction. About 8 months post liposuction all the weight in my abdomen had returned, like the liposuction had never been done, even the doctor could not believe it. It was explained I had "visceral fat" that was being carried in my abdomen that liposuction could not reach. He offered to try again and I declined. I see no difference in my stomach. It looks exactly the same as it did pre surgery. However, now I have another problem. I continued with the same diet and exercise regimen and gained 12 pounds in two years. I absolutely cannot lose any weight, not even a pound no matter what I do. I stick to a 1200 calorie diet, I work out 7 days a week for an hour a day and the scale will not budge. Ther is nothing medically wrong I have been tested. The only thing I can think is that the liposuction did something to my metabolism. I am pushing 40 so everyone that I see says oh it's your age, perimenopause, but I don't think it is. Help!

I used to have the same problem, until I increased my calorie intake. It was explained to me that I was consuming too few calories so my body was holding onto them in fear of not having enough calories to burn. When I religiously increased my caloric intake to 1750 +/- a day, over 4-5 small meals, eating as soon as I got up in the morning, the weight started coming off at a much more advanced rate.
