I am planning on having lipo on my uppper arms and inner thighs in the next month. I like to be prepared 100% before if at all possible. So if you all could help me out with your experience I would greatly appreciate it! How long were you in surgery? How long after surgery until you could go home? Will I have drains? How bad is the pain? About how long did you wear compression garments? How many days did you have to take your pain meds? Did you have to sleep on your back, if so, how long? When did you go back to work? About how long were you really swollen? When did you start to see the "real" results? Anything else I may need to know? Thanks so much!!!!!!
There are definitely some questions here that you need to ask your doctor (drains, surgery time, meds, garments). Make sure you know his stance on these things before you have surgery, so there are no/less surprises.
Lipo swelling can be brutal, but a lucky few, seem to escape the worst of it and can see results right away. Others, take longer - months to see a change. A lot can depend on how your body responds. Also, how much fat is removed can be a factor (as well as how much fat you have on you).
I am not sure how old you are, but upper arms and inner thighs are notorious for not tightening up well after lipo. So, def. discuss the possibility of loose skin with your surgeon (your skin quality/elasticity)...
I did not wear a garment for my arms (I had arm lipo and an arm lift), but I wore one for my leg lipo.
I hope this helps!

Thanks so much. I was just wondering if people usually have drains with lipo. I hated them with my TT. Did you have your arms lipo'd and lifted at once, or was it at different times? I had asked her about a lift before and she said you have to get rid of most of the fat, first or it will not look right. I have an appt on the 3rd, but all these things are on my mind, NOW. I will definitely ask when I go.
I just responded to your other thread. Yes, def. want to slim the arm b/c a heavier arm will still look heavy even if it's lifted. I have seen some pics of women with "bigger" arms after a lift and their arms still look big. It could be because they didn't have lipo or didn't have enough. Most women want a slimmer upper arm and since it's a trouble spot for so many, lipo def. helps!
