OMG the pain during smartlipo was horrible

Postby tdskkenn » Wed Aug 25, 2010 5:19 pm

Hi ladies,

I had smartlipo a few days ago, and it was a horrible experience. I had so much scar tissue from previous abdominal surgeries that it made it difficult to get completely numb. The numbing process itself was unbearable. Did anyone else experience this?

I had 10mg Ativan only and I can tell you that I also found it to be extremely painful when doing my flanks and back. Despite that I prefer to be awake.

I am now 4 weeks out and have no pain at all....Took a while to get here...I took pain meds for the first 10 days regularly.

I had lipo in April and they did numb me very well. No pain during the procedure, and i even drove myself home. Thank goodness I didnt stop at any stores, because when I got home, the numbing wore off and I fell to the floor. They didnt give me any pain meds, said I wouldnt need it.....WOW, I almost called 911 I thought I was going to die. DH had to leave work and get drugs for me... I was in terrible pain, an 8, for over an hour ......ALWAYS GET PAIN MEDS, I WAS STUPID TO BELIEVE THE PS.....JUST A WARNING....FYI..he messed up my lipo big time. I am still bruised 6 months later and have a large hematoma that isnt draining... need surgery in January.....

I agree. Just had done yesterday. The entire 3 hours was painful and almost unbearable. I can say that I can already see result though. I will NEVER do this again no matter what. Very unpleasant. Just thinking about it makes me cringe. Anesthesia injections horrible and laser part pretty bad too. I do think that my body has a difficult time with anesthesia so most times I felt everything. Hurt like hell!
