The right compression garment for ab lipo + gynecomastia

The right compression garment for ab lipo + gynecomastia

Postby mikey103 » Mon Feb 02, 2009 7:53 pm

I just had gynecomastia reduction + lipo of abs and side flanks, one week ago on 1/26/2009. My doctor has me wearing (2) 15" abdominal binders wrapped around me 24 hours a day. I am in serious discomfort with bruising all over. Is a stage one compression garment better to wear than a universal ab binder? If so, which one? How long should I wear a compression garment one week post op? I've heard from 4 weeks, all the way to 6 months. My measurements are:

chest 40.5"
waist 34"
hips 40.5"

Thank you in advance for any assistance

Hello mikey103,

Abdominal binders are great for tummy tuck, liposuction type procedures that just concentrate on the abdominal area. Seeing as you had more than one procedure I would highly recommend a stage 1 compression garment for better comfort and recovery. A garment like this will allow for compression in the chest, abdomen, and flank area without digging into the surgical sites and is appropriate for liposuction and gynecomastia. It will also improve blood circulation, minimize swelling after the procedure, flushes the body out of potentially harmful fluids, accelerate the healing process, and helps the skin fit better to it's new contours. I have recommended some items below:

1) Male Compression Vest (Rainey)

2)Compression Vest - Stage 1 (D. Veronique)
