We’re thrilled to welcome plastic surgeon Dr. Monte O. Harris (http://www.culturaface.com) to the Ask-A-Doctor area of Make Me Heal. Dr. Monte Harris is an expert in ethnic facial plastic surgery and can answer questions on all cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery procedures for African-Americans or other ethnic groups, including facelifts, neck lifts, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), rhinoplasty (nose job), dermal fillers/injectables, laser treatments (IPL, fractional lasers).

Dr. Harris is based in Chevy Chase, Maryland (near Washington DC) and, in addition to running a busy practice, is currently spearheading research to define the process of facial aging across ethnic groups with the goal to improve the efficacy of surgical facial rejuvenation.

About Dr. Harris

Dr. Harris is a board certified/fellowship trained facial plastic surgeon who also has expertise in cosmetic laser therapy, female hair transplantation and aesthetic skin care. Dr. Harris is a recognized authority in comprehensive cosmetic facial rejuvenation for individuals of darker skin tones and is sought by patients around the world for his culturally sensitive approach to rhinoplasty.

Dr. Harris graduated Magna Cum Laude from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia and received his M.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. While undergoing postgraduate training at the University of Michigan, Dr. Harris completed over seven years of subspecialty surgical training focusing exclusively on the head and neck. He furthered his expertise in facial surgery with a year-long dedicated fellowship in facial cosmetic surgery with one of the nation’s leading facial plastic surgeons. To improve the efficacy of surgical facial rejuvenation, Dr. Harris is currently spearheading research to define the process of facial aging across ethnic groups.

Dr. Harris is currently a clinical assistant professor at the Georgetown University, Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery and the Howard University, Department of Dermatology. He continues to educate residents and lecture nationally on topics ranging from nasal plastic surgery to cosmetic facial rejuvenation.
