Derwin,

I frequently have patients complain of lip discoloration . . .so you are not alone. If there are pigmened deposits resulting in dark patches, laser treatments may be beneficial. I have a couple of patients who have complained of "too much pink" showing, who have benefited from lip reduction surgery.

I hope this helps and good luck,

Hi, My guy friend has this same problem. However, its not dark patches. The top half of his lower lip is completely pink, whle the bottom half is completely brown (or normal colored...he is Black). He is really sensitive about his lip and doesnt like to discuss it. He wants treatment for it, but doesnt know what is available. Could you please offer advice?

Dear 2diva4u,

Lip reduction surgery is an option for reducing the amount of pink.

Take Care,

pink lips

Postby scooby13 » Sat Jan 10, 2009 1:59 pm

Hello I am an african american male and I have pretty nice lips. My problem is I have a bottom pink lip but it is just in the middle part of the bottom lip. I know that Dr. Harris said surgery but is there any other way like creams or lips balm that can just give the darker color back to my lips?[img][img][/img]

Lasers on for discolored lips

Postby PrettyPrettyPrincess » Wed Jan 28, 2009 10:31 pm

Hi Dr.Harris,
Can you please elaborate on the laser option for pigmented deposits on lips? I know lip skin is pretty delicate. Are lasers safe to use on such a sentitive area? Do you do this alot?
I'm asking because I have two tone lips and I'd love to laser off the
dark parts.

Thanks in advance for answering.
