at some point when I finally have it under control(did not flare until 2 years ago), I would like to have microdermabrasion on the face, neck, and decollette. Would this procedure cause any further damage? I only use ceramide moisturizers onmy face to controlthe eczema.

Stevie,

Microdermabrasion in the right hands is a safe procedure for all skin tones. I frequently recommend microdermasion as a way of removing "dead skin cells" from the surface, giving the skin a "glow." For patients with darker pigmented, you have to make sure that the provider has treated patients successfully with skin similar to yours. Given that you have an underlying medical condition, eczema . . .i would seek out microdermasion in more of a medical setting under the supervision of a dermatologist.
