Monte Harris: Is it a suture technique?

First, I think it is wonderful that you actually share your knowledge with the public. It is such a tremendous help for those of us who are trying to make educated plastic surgery decisions.

Question: Other than removing fat and shaping the cartilage of the tip, how do you give the top of the nostrils their shape? I read somewhere about a suture technique. Is this the correct term and is it a commonly used technique by doctors when shaping the tip?

I saw one of your patients whose nose looks like mine so is there hope for me!?

Dear blewprent,

First, let me say thanks for the awesome compliment. I took a look at your photos and you are an excellent candidate for rhinoplasty! I would focus on improving the shape and definition of your tip. In your case, I would likely use suture techniques to give you a more refined tip along with possibly narrowing the nostrils. I see a lot of patients of African descent with noses very similar to yours . . .so there is hope.

I would recommend following up with my patient coordinator, Monica Gomez (monicagomez@culturaface.com) to schedule a consultation. I look forward to meeting you.

All the Best,

Dr. Harris
