I cant tell you how many web sites and reviews i read before i had my sculptra done. Im a 40 yr old male and been through hell with a back injury and my cheeks had the horrid sunken look.
So i searched and searched for a good plastic surgeon and had a meetig with them for an hour before i finally said yes its for me.
Now ive always looked after my skin and lok maybe 10 15 years younger than my age i eat well and loko after my skin . it was explained to me how the procedure is done and where exactly its injected and what i must do to make sure it works out.
Now ive read and read all these posts from people that get lumps and bumps and hard granulomas under there skin . There is no need for any of these at all. its simple,,
IF YOU DONT MASSAGE YOUR FACE FOR 10 MINS TWICE A DAY FOR THE WHOLE 6 WEEKS YOU RISK GETTING INTO TROUBLE.
As the sculptra is injected gradually it moves around the area and starts to cause the collagen growth,, the massage makes sure the growth is even and not lumpy and un even. ive read the most silly things from people saying i massaged for 5 mins for 2 weeks and then they got lumps,, its got me so cross as this is a very successfull treatment and the problem is that people are too lazy to do what i necessary.
If the collagen takes 6 weeks at least to grow then we must massage for the whole six weeks to make sure the growth is even and not in lumps because at this time the collagen is still soft and we can manipulate it to grow perfectly. People try to ban the product being used saying it dangerous and causes granulomas they havent masasged hard enough and often enough. Ive had my second lot and ive not stopped massging since the first lot was injected. Yes every day twice a day for 10 mins each time and never missed a single night. I use a firm massage and really work it around my face.
I ask you all,, please do this,, you will be fine,, its an amazing product my face looks so amazing,, im so happy and i want it to go right for you so you look extra amazing. Please please dont go to any old clinic to have it done,, ive read about people having it done and too much put into certain areas make sure you go to someone who has been recommended by lots of people and who has a firm reputation as a plastic surgeon.
I met someone who told me the person who did theirs told them they only needed to massage for 5 days,, how terrible is that as the collagen wont have even started growing then and she got lots of lumps.
Please dont give up with this,, its amazing and can work wonders but you have to do the hard work at home to make sure the end result is perfect.
How nice of you to be so thorough and caring! I have had great results from Juevderm. I had nasal labial folds done over a year ago and it still looks great. I have wondered about Sculptra. The one big worry that I have had is aging. The Sculptra is forever, right? The concern I have is that aging makes your features change. If the Sculptra remains static and your face does not, will it look strange at some point? thanks for the info.
No it doestnt last forever, likely 2 years, I am a 44 yo Male and had 3 treatments and I am/was very happy. It is approaching 2 years and I can see that some of it has gone... I have never had lumps although admittingly i didnt massage as mentioned here.
In summary, I am also very happy with it, wish it was less expensive
I'm glad none of you have had the sculptra lumps. Unfortunately I was not that lucky. I followed the instructions and massaged and massaged until my face hurt for months. In fact I never really stopped (it is a year later and I'm still doing it). My husband was always yelling at me that I didn't need to massage that much. I would massage at my desk at work, in the morning, at night, on the treadmill. All the time. And for the first few months I did have no lumps! However, the product did grow a LOT. About 4 months in I did start to feel a few tiny bumps that were not noticeable. My warning is that 11 months later and after almost a year with no/minimal bumps an explosion under my skin. Lots and lots of lumps. It is very disturbing and although I'm still constantly massaging nothing can prevent them from popping up. My only point is that I thought i was in the clear too. Some people just have a reaction to the product. I asked my dr. why this is happening now so suddenly. He simply does not know and says that the body's healing process is to some extent still unknown. Just be very careful with this product. I'm not saying don't use it. But perhaps do 1 trial and wait a year to see if you get a delayed reaction. If you don't maybe you're in the clear. I just could not believe that they suddenly showed up like they did despite my dilligent massage.
