Any treatment that works for dark circles???

Postby aussiegirl7 » Tue Nov 04, 2008 8:39 pm

Hi All,

Has anyone actually succesfully treated dark circles under the eyes? I'm talking chronic hereditary dark circles. I'm only 23 so its not due to age, possibly thin skin (all sources say something different as to what the cause is)

My eyes have been hollow and dark underneith since I was a kid. Conceler makes a big difference but it dosen't cover it completly. I'm so tired of having to wear conceler all the time, I even wear it to bed as my boyfriend has never seen me without it before. I look completly different when you can fully see the dark hollows under my eyes.

I'm desperate! I've tried every topical cream on the market, even hylexin did nothing.

I've read some things about dark circles being treated with fillers/lasers/plastic surgery etc. But I've never heard anyone say this actually works. Even the sources seem unsure. They say things like - its really had to treat dark circles but this may help?

I've called up a few PS and asked if they have any procedures that they have used to succesfully treat dark circles and I always get wishy washy answers. ''Ummm well... Its really hard to say... It would depend on alot of things... how dark the dark circles are... we will have to get you in for a consultaion and it will be $$'' :?

Please can anyone help me? I'm willing to do anything but only if there is a good chance it will work. Right now I'm feeling like all my options are leading to me spending alot of money for a very slim chance at results.

You probably would want to look into cheek implants.

Dr. Leanne Cross in Tampa, Florida at Lecada Medical Artistry has a wonderful treatment for dark cicles under the eyes, caused by volume loss, etc. She uses a combination of facial fillers to give such astounding results you will not believe it! There aren't many treatments available for this area, however Dr. Cross has been able to perfect a technique with fillers that will make your jaw drop to the floor! I couldn't believe my eyes (literally).....reasonably priced, too.

Forget topicals. The darkness is the muscle showing through. A good person with fillers will solve your problems. But they will not be permanent. It's an ongoing thing.

Cucumber, green tea bags, lemon slices, and other natural remedies will all help. But at-home stuff can only take you so far, so i'd agree that getting fillers (maybe when you're a little older) or investing in a good topical treatment will help. Like Obagi elastiderm eye cream or swisstec vitamin C-PMG eye serum, i've used them both and they both really help!

Cucumber slices too. Also, there are different serums available as well. You can google them to find the best for you.

Topical cremes will do nothing for dark circles. I did get a filler and it did not help me for me personally

hey aussiegirl7,

I'm 33.5yrs of age n I can relate to issues of dark circles...I wanted a glowing skin without spending money n at home, without any operations. and I found natural ways to get all this..

A quick tip for you..rub cucumber under your eyes and leave it overnight. It will lessen the darkness. And do you wear spectacles? They make the area around eyes dark. So try lenses too. Rest you will find a lot of things in my book-they work!

Wish you a youthful skin always!
