REFIRME DISASTER

Postby message44 » Wed Jun 11, 2008 1:19 pm

I waited one year to give my face a chance to heal before posting this complaint. It has not. I was told last May that I could go right back to work immediately following the procedure and would look fine. Long story short, I wound up with what looked like pimples all over my face (turned out I was burned) and when they finally healed, they left little scars and pigmentations ALL OVER MY FACE - I also sustained an indentation on my left cheekbone. I contacted the person who did it as well as the company who makes ELOS, the machine used in the procedure. I got runarounds from everyone. Each person blamed the other, and each told me many stories as to why it happened. Quite a feat since they denied this ever happening before. Meanwhile I am permanently scarred (they said it would clear up in a few weeks - duh - how can they make this claim when they said this has NEVER occurred before. If you're thinking of using this procedure, write me and I'll email you photos. Also, if you'd like to hear all the excuses, feel free to write.

ReFirme and Fotofacial RF

Postby desertRider » Thu Jun 12, 2008 10:14 am

To message44: Is the company Syneron? Was it the Fotofacial RF with elos?

I had one procedure several months ago for redness and have fat loss and a large caved in area on one of my cheeks below the cheekbone. My doctor denied that this procedure would cause it.

I just realized that ReFirme is the same thing as Fotofacial RF but with a different applicator. Same company. Same technology. I would be very wary.

RF is Radio Frequency. That is what Thermage uses.

REFIRME

To DesertRider: Yes, the company was Syneron. I spoke with the representative and she said it was the fault of the technician and she put me in touch with a Dermatologist who does this. The representative of Syneron stated they've NEVER had a problem, and that perhaps the Dermatologist could answer my questions. He said they HAVE HAD problems and from my description of my face, he said it was definitely burned. It's called "arcing" --- this happens when the technician lifts the wand instead of keeping it steadily on the skin. He also said perhaps it was a reaction from the topical cream she put on the skin. He also said maybe she didn't know what she was doing, after all, the techs don't have to be licensed - my tech was a business major! The rep from Syneron blamed the technician, and the tech blamed Syneron's training. Syneron said they're not supposed to use a cooling fan, and the tech said they are supposed to use it and it says so in the literature. The Dermatologist said that Syneron doesn't actually tell the techs how to use it properly. In other words, I was witness to a major case of PASSING THE BUCK! And here I sit with permanent marks on my face. After all, I'm sure not everyone has this kind of reaction, but they should warn people that it can happen and not claim that there is absolutely no risk whatsoever.

Syneron

Postby desertRider » Sun Jun 15, 2008 5:50 pm

Message44: I'm so sorry this happened to you. It is so frustrating that these people can take our money and ruin our faces and we can't do anything about it.

I had my Fotofacial RF done by a board certified facial plastic surgeon with a good reputation. A cooling fan was used. I don't trust these doctors anymore. They buy these expensive machines after seeing a demonstration at some weekend seminar and will do anything to make it worth the investment.

galvanic treatment

Postby armar » Tue Jun 17, 2008 7:41 am

I have been using a galvanic treatment for the last month and I am surprised at how well it is working. I work for a plastic surgeon and agreed to try this machine out on myself first before we offer it to patients. Not only is it working great on my legs ,but, my arms as well.I'll keep you updated on the results, but again I am realy happy so far.
I do not want to appear to be promoting a product so if you want more info just pm me

I had a fotofacial with Syneron's EMAX machine with the SRA head. It uses IPL and RF. I have permanent fat loss and dermal atrophy which I've had multiple dermatologists explain. Fat loss can happen with any RF technology. I'm proof. I have excellent before and after photos so doctors do not deny that this happened to me and they have said it's from the radiofrequency. Syneron claims it has never happened to anyone. How has it never happened with so many people describing that it has? They refuse to take accountability. I tried reporting it and they refuse to take my report. It's insane. Very sad that this keeps happening. Radiofrequency can melt fat - it's used to do just that in many applications.
