Will Objai work for me

Postby kisbel65 » Wed Feb 10, 2010 8:45 am

I have been using retin-a since I was 26 (18 years). I switched to tazarac because I felt I no longer was getting the desired results with retin-a. I started using the obaji system in late dec 2009 and I have yet to peel. I did get red in the begining, but that has subsided. I was using the blender with 0.1% of retinal (bought it with the system) and yesterday I switched and started mixing the blender with my tazarac instead. Still no peel. I do notice that my skin pigmentation is a little better, but will I get the results others have gotten with obaji?

I used obagi for 1.5 yrs and NEVER had redness/peeling and it completely diminished my hyper-pigmentation
From what I understand not everyone has the same effects from oabgi...

I have a girlfriend who used RetinA for years before Obaji and didn't peel at all, but she still got the great outcome. She's a doctor (don't know if that matters) but she told me that she would not peel because her skin was already very used to RetinA type products.

All by best, Sunny

Update: When I bought the obaji line it came with the retinol ($250 for everthing). I switched to my tazarac and I do get a light peel.....similar to what I get when I have a B-lift peel. Problem is that I am still breaking out. I did not write down the offical start date, but I must of started end of dec or begining of jan (with blender and retinol, used step 1-4 at first because i was a little scared). I also got a pimple on my mustache areas that has turned into broken capillaries. My main concern was hyperpigmentation from waxing the mustache area years ago, so I am concerned. Do I discontinue obaji?

Hi Kisbel:

Is hyperpigmentation the main reason you started on Obagi? It takes 6 weeks per skin cycle and most people are advised to stay on the system for 18 weeks before going on maintenance. Since you see a change for the better, I vote for staying with it for the full 3 cycles

I just wanted to respond to you so that you'd know someone cares.
