Can we talk about birth control??

I have an IUD and hate it. I am so worried about gaining weight and have tried so hard to lose and maintain after this surgery. I would really like to avoid a period all together. I do have a 1 year old that I am still nursing 3 times a day only, so I also have to have something that is safe while nursing. Does anyone have any suggestions for something that works well for you? Thank you so much!

Kay, A non hormonal IUD is the best thing if you want no side effects from BC and not have to think about it. It also lasts 10 years. What type do you have..and why do you hate it? I am on my second one and love it!!!!!

The only way to avoid a period is to take hormones which COULD cause you to gain weight. So pills, implants, nuvaring...are all hormonal.

The other option is a diaphragm which I personally found to be a pain in the *ss.

What about condoms? The only method that won't impact you at all.

I have the copper IUD and it has been in for almost 2 years. My periods are super heavy and long and I get more back pain then ever when I get my periods. It was not like this before the IUD. I was also thinking hormones may be nice to regulate my moods, which seem to be worse than ever during my period. I thought this stuff would get easier after 2 babies! I wish I liked my IUD, I love the idea, but feel like I have given it a chance.
