Ears rebound after otoplasty

Ears rebound after otoplasty

Folks, don't get otoplasty unless your ears are really bad. The reason is simple: rebound.

I'm a 33 year old male who had otoplasty when I was 29. After you get over the recovery, yes you look different, but slowly but surely your ears begin to rebound out again, within a year or two. Have they rebounded out all the way? No, but to be honest I still have ears that stick out. And on top of that, I always have a slight pain whenever I handle my ears now, or whenever I get a haircut.

Sure you can wear a headband for awhile, but I don't think it will help much.

So my advice is this: if your ears just stick out a little, live with it and be happy with who you are.

I noticed this as well...not terrible rebound but the ears went from a very appealing tight/tapered look to a more relaxed look now and have sprung back out.

The head band means nothing once the cut is done, it won't "pin" them back or hold them back. It all depends on how much cartiladge is taken out etc.
