Opinion requested

Hi guys, was hoping that I can get some honest opinions to see if you think I should get otoplasty done. I have been thinking about this for a long time, and like you all have done extensive research. The doctor that I had a consultation with gave me a quote for about $2300, so that's for me is affordable. My main beef with my ears is not just the protruding, but my left ear has a slight forward curve that I think looks bad. Thanks in advance for you time.

I think it's a decision you have to make for yourself.
Based on your photos, I've seen worse, but I can see why it might bother you. And yes, one ear does look a little different from the other.
If it really bothers you it's probably worth taking care of it.
If you decide to pursue surgery I would be very careful about selecting a surgeon who has lots of experience with this exact procedure and ask to see before/after photos from other patients.

Im getting it done tomorrow, and I wont lie that I have thoughts of backing out of the appointment. This probably just due to nerves, but I try to stay positive by envisioning myself 1 week or 3 weeks from now. Besides, I already placed a non-refundable $500 deposit to hold the appointment. Im hoping that my recovery will be quicker since my ear cartilages will not be affected, the doctor just be folding the top of my ears back just a bit. Hope to share my experience and pics after the surgery.

I just got back from my procedure. It only took 45 minutes, and surprisingly painless. The nurse was even nice to gave me a ride home. I should be able to take off the gauze in a couple of days to see what it looks like.

I'm glad it went well... post photos if you feel like it.
Remember the swelling will give a distorted look at first... you won't know what they "really" look like until a few weeks go by, from what I've heard.
