Otoplasty Concerns

Otoplasty Concerns

Postby jsg123 » Tue Nov 01, 2016 3:52 pm

Hello All -

I am two weeks post op from an otoplasty and have questions for anyone who has gone through the surgery / recovery......

I am having a hard time adjusting to my "new" look and have concerns that everyone will notice that I have had a surgery done which was not my intentions...

Also, my ears still seem pretty swollen two weeks out and I am wondering when I will be able to begin socializing again without my ears having a swollen appearance ?

Lastly, my ears seem to be stuck to my head more then i was hoping. Is that just a result of them still being swollen / wearing a headband 24/7 (i will begin only wearing it at night in 3 days) .....

Really appreciate any help :D

Did your surgeon inform you of the distance from your head to the middle of the ear during/after surgery?

My surgeon checked the distance in consultation and again just before stitching the ears back up during surgery, as I would expect any surgeon to do.
