Parents that had Otoplasty or have protruding ears

Parents that had Otoplasty or have protruding ears

Postby steven2tea » Thu Aug 11, 2016 6:46 am

Hello, I had otoplasy in 7th grade and I'm wondering if my kids will likely have protruding ears as well. For those of you with kids, did they inherent your protruding ears? In most kids I see, it looks like they typically get the ears of the father. For the record, I am a male but my dad doesn't have protruding ears. My older brother doesn't have them either. I'm hoping my case was a birth defect and (hopefully) won't be passed to my kids.

I know it's very hard to tell what gene's will be passed on to our kids.

If anyone has feedback or observations that would be appreciated. As mentioned above, I'm wondering if my kids will likely have protruding ears as well. If mine was a birth defect, will that defect be passed down to my kids?
