Do your co-workers notice post-otoplasty operation?

Postby otio2014 » Sun Dec 14, 2014 9:39 am

Hi guys, I'm a 25 year old male planning to do otoplasty surgery within the next couple of months for my protruding ears. I'm kind of anxious if my co-workers will notice the effects after surgery?

I do have pretty protruding ears, but then I have thicker hair (i.e. don't cut my hair too short) to make the protruding ears seem less obvious. What about you guys? Did your co-workers notice? Or any tips to work your way around it?

I was thinking perhaps I grow my hair pretty long until the operation, then cut it pretty short afterwards, so that the effect of the pinned back ears will be less obvious?

Thanks for any advice!!

I had my done in july, and honestly, none of my coworkers mentioned anything. Even my family did not said anything, but there was that initial look and comment of "your hair is getting long". Your female friends will noticed a difference more. Remember, the surgery is only as successful as how the scars heals/hidden/recovers. With a short hair cut, people can still see behind your ears. Its been since July and tomorrow I will be getting an undercut hairstyle for the first time since surgery. I also got some prescription glasses too just in case. Good luck and merry xmas.
