judgment on our plastic surgery

Postby borci » Thu Jul 05, 2007 10:01 am

Hi everyone,

Please give me feedback on this topic. I have recently had plastic surgery. I have a close friend who is angry at me for having it. She believe that I am just weak and following the society's premium on looking younger.

So as a result I feel guilty for being vain since I was a teenager. Plastic surgery has not fixed my personality by any means but I do feel alittle better. Please voice your opinions on judgement from others i.e. family and friends about plastic surgery.

Thank you very much,

Happy healing and enjoy your beauty.

Hi borci,

You should not feel guilty at all. There's nothing wrong with wanting to look and feel good about yourself. I've had several procedures and I did it all for me. Both procedures have made me feel 50 times better about myself and I don't regret for one second getting them done. I told my best friend about both procedures and not once did she judge me. Of course, she said that I didn't need either procedure but she also said that if I really wanted them and I thought they would make me happy then get them. I haven't told members of my family. We aren't that close to where I feel the need to tell them. Perhaps jealousy is a reason why some friends and family are so critical with plastic surgery. I'm not sure. All that really matters is that you feel better about yourself.

Take care!

Hi borci,

Do not let other people take away your happiness. Enjoy your good feelings about how you look.

I've decided not to share with my family and most friends that I'm going to have PS in Nov. Only two friends (one who will take me to and from my PS and another who loves me unconditionally) know about my planned liposuction.

I've told my family and other friends that over the next nine months I'm going to work on firming and toning my body so that I can buy all new clothes next spring. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Envy is a terrible thing!!

Friends do change toward you when you have PS, I have had a number of procedures, ie. Tummy tuck, Liposuction on my back, waist upper arms. Face lift and upper and Lower blepharoplasy, or eye lift. I look twenty years younger, and feel great about my self, I am also getting a lot of attention from men now, my friends really dont like this, and I have noticed some major attitude changes  , I have started making new friends who accept the new me  I am 54 and single, and having sooo much fun. Dont let your friends make you feel bad about your decision to have PS. Because the people who would make you feel bad about it are not your friends.!!

Coming from someone who knows all too well.....

Postby TheJennyLee » Fri Jun 13, 2008 9:45 pm

Rarely you will find someone who is indifferent to their feelings on plastic surgery. People feel pretty strongly about it, and if they disagree with it, then the let you know. If the agree it with, you get props. Unless you want to subject yourself to their opinions, don't tell anyone what you are doing. I obviously don't care whether people agree or disagree with what I do, otherwise I would not have gone on television to discuss it.

Most of the time, I have found....when people have something nasty to say about you, it is because they are jealous. I have never received a nasty e-mail with a picture of that person attached.

As I always say..."I can explain it to you, but I cannot understand it for you."
