Help! I hit my nose on the side accidently and I can feel a small little bump on the side! I didn't hit it too hard, and the lump in actually not on the nose but on the side between the nose and the cheek. I am scared I ruined my nose and I will have this small underground bump forever!!! Has this happened to anyone? HELP! please! When do I know if I hit it too hard?
My dog actually jumped up and whacked me in the nose around 1 week post op. I called my PS and he said that as long as it didn't cause my eyes to tear it will usually be ok. BUT I would call your PS just to be on the safe side and tell them about the bump because I don't know about that..
I have a toddler & he has whacked me in the nose so many times since my cast came off, there doesn't seem to be any problems from it, I asked my Dr about it & he said a knock to the nose shouldn't hurt anything as long as its not painful.
Try not to worry, you will be fine, this has happened to a few people on here.
All the best Mary
I posted last week that I hit my nose so hard I bled out of both nostrils and was in extreme pain. I even bruised up a tiny bit again. I went to the doc and he did a thorough exam and said he didn't think it would affect the outcome.
I managed to smack my nose after both surgeries, and there wasn't any damage either time. I also got a nasty cold less than a month after my first surgery and was coughing, blowing my nose etc., without any damage. I think our noses are a lot stronger and more resilient than we give them credit for, but after investing so much money and emotional energy into these surgeries, I think it's understandable that we feel compelled to baby our noses as they heal. Honestly, I think you're going to be just fine!

i was opening a christmas present today and perhaps i did not notice how big my nose was from the swelling that when i was unwrapping the box close to my face, the edge of the box hit the underside of my nose tip and it hurt! i'm worried that i'm only 9 days post op and i have been careful ever since the surgery. do you think it will affect the healing of my nose? my nose tip is not hurting so much, but it feels more sensitive than before! help!!! i spent a lot for this and i don't want anything to go wrong!
hi, i actually punched my nose really hard by accident 12 days post op, and was worried all night i thought i could feel a lump or it swelled up more, luckily i saw my surgen the next day and ask him he said its fine but to stop hitting myself, so no damage done, give your surgeon a call or e-mail him just to be on the safe side!!
hope all is well

I'm only laughing because I can totally hear in my head Dr. G telling you to stop hitting yourself! (Hope you're healing well, I was supposed to have my final postop appointment today but got caught in the middle of an ice storm and couldn't make it)
So I went to a concert last night and got my nose smashed for a second when someone pushed me into the guy in front of me. I basically felt the tip of my nose squish in on impact. I didn't feel pain (surprisingly) afterward. My nose swelled up though (I drank alcohol too - that probably didn't help).
My nose didn't feel pain at all today but it doesn't feel the same either. I taped it and hope that will help! I had my surgery back in July 25th, so it's been 2 months and week since I've had my revision.
