I am really concern because I went in wanting the huge bump that I had removed and I wanted just a little bit of narrowing from my bridge. I was a bit nervous when my splint was on but when they took it off...I was disappointed and I been depressed from that moment on. My doctor keeps telling me that my nose will go down a bit when the swelling goes down.
I was wondering if anyone that had rhinoplasty like myself, have your tip gone down after having an upturned, pig like nose? If it has please could you tell me approximately how long it took?
I think I am at a point that I wish I could go back to my old nose, because essentially I feel like my self-esteem has plummeted. I dont even feel like smiling. Has this happened to other people that have had rhinoplasty? Please any advice would truly be appreciated! Thanks
I think your new nose is absolutely adorable! That may not be much comfort when it's making you miserable, but if I were to pass you in the street, I would never describe your nose as "piggy", even if the tip never dropped, which I'm sure it will as the swelling goes down. My tip settled a bit just a few days after getting the cast off, but I had really minimal swelling - I know some people have swelling for up to a year or even longer. Because you had somewhat of a drooping tip before, it concealed your nostrils - now that the tip has been lifted you can see more of your nostrils - it's a totally different look that will take some getting used to, but I think it looks really balanced and attractive - and will be even more so once it settles. Hang in there!
Hi, You could also be noticing more space between your upper lip and columella. Since your columella was shortened, there is more space between this area. I do not know if you would be happier with an upper lip lift to make this area smaller or tip lengthening. If your tip appears too short from a certain angle, I know exactly how you feel. It is like I am missing a piece of my nose.
Your nose will drop down. You had recent surgery, but the improvement is already obvious. Change can be a bitcof a shock factor too - my guess is that you will end up loving your new nose.

Hi, I had my surgery almost two weeks ago. Omg that is so reassuring that your tip went down some. I am a bit in a state of shocky. It is sucha drastic change. I feel like everyone knows that I have had work done, because my nose looks like it currently those in the pictures. I know everyone is different but when did you start seeing that you tip starting to go down a bit.

It will go down a lot first 3 months. And still more for the next year.
Hi, like others have said, youre very early in. I would give it at least 6 months before you start to evaluate if your nostrils are where you want them to be. At the moment it looks dramatic because your brain hasnt gotten used to what its seeing and needs time to rearrange so it recognises these changes as you. Then you will be able to see it more objectively and be in a better position to decide if you want a revision or not. So please dont fret =) the best thing you can do for yourself now is to concentrate on giving yourself all the nutrients and relaxation your body needs to heal and be healthy and see how things go and then make a decision.
