subconjunctival hemorrhage (bloody eyeballs) after surgery?

subconjunctival hemorrhage (bloody eyeballs) after surgery?

Postby courts0909 » Sun Dec 27, 2009 1:29 am

After my surgery the white of my eyes were still white as I expected them to be. About 3 days later I noticed that each eye was bloody in the outer corner. Through internet research I think it is a sub-conjunctival hemorrhage (am I wrong?). My doctor was not worried and said I should not be and to leave it alone. Hes a great doctor...as in his years of profession, background research, results and reputation, but I felt like an assembly line patient and that my questions were to troublesome and dismissed. So I'm asking here...(I know right) if this has happened to you and what I can do to help it heal, here's a picture for reference (not my eye) I found it on the internet that looks exactly like what I have.

Why I figured it is subconjunctival hemorrage: http://www.emedicinehealth.com/subconju ... cle_em.htm

Hello,

If I were you, i'd post that question on the "Ask an Expert" board and see if you can get a surgeon's perspective on this. Good luck and I hope it resolves itself soon!

I'm guessing it should just get better by itsself, I wouldn't worry about it too much unless it doesn't seem to be improving.

I had this. At about 2 or 3 weeks the bloody spots turned yellow and then was completely gone at about a month post op. I don't think there is anything you can do to clear it up other than waiting. Definitely normal though, don't worry.
