Mary,

Congratulations on making it this far! Nervous but mostly excited is a good frame of mind to be in - I really think everyone going into a revision is at least a little nervous as they've been disappointed before. It sounds like you got whatever questions you had in your mind cleared up and are ready to put this behind you once and for all. :D

What is Dr. G planning on doing / fixing for you?

Please do keep us posted - everyone here will be rooting for you and a smooth recovery! There's a big community of us here who've been down the road before and also just have a fine appreciation of noses and can talk about them in much more detail even after your family and friends have gotten bored of hearing about it. Also everyone here would obviously love your feedback on your experience and how things turn out for you!

Best of luck tomorrow! =D> You're going to a doctor that's recognized by other surgeons as being a national expert, so do your best to relax!

Thank you very much! I made an album of my before pics... and will add as I go through this. My before pics are here
http://www.makemeheal.com/pictures/rhin ... rd=newnose
He plans on thinning my bridge... derotating the tip... adding rim grafts....lifting the columella... and adding a spreader graft I believe to the bridge because he said I have valve collapse. My profile looks pretty good, but he showed me how he's going to take a couple millimeters off here and there and lower the tip a bit.
Oh and the PW is newnose
In the frontal view.. I remember someone asking about alar base reduction.. Ive had it.. you cant see any scars!

I hope everything went well!
Keep us posted on your recovery!

Remember that the swelling is going to distort things for a while. Now, if only I can remind myself that when it's my turn!

Thanks everyone! Everything went well.. I am very swollen.. and bleeding quite a lot. I had an open revision.. he also did a septoplasty at the last minute.. I had enough cartilage so he didnt have to use my ear! He also fixed one of my nostrils and brought it in more bc they were a little off. I will post pics when i get the cast off next Friday.. Hopefully this medrol will take the swelling down.. I can barely see.

Glad to hear things went well! I also remember being so swollen my eyes were barely open after my primary. What a relief that Guyuron didn't have to go beyond your nose to get building material. Phew.

With all that swelling make sure that you are sleeping elevated and get your hands on some fresh pineapple if you can. xo

^ where did this pineapple thing come from? i heard soemone else mentioning this.

Thats excellent news about not needing ear! i have read many times ppl saying the ear wound can be more painful than the nose :s

Did Dr Guyuron decide just before the op about septoplasty or whilst op was in progress?

Must be a relief to have it done with, now you can put your feet up and relax :)

Oh yes I do have some pineapple :).. I cant tell if it's working or not.. I had my mom taste it and she said it was really tart, but I can't taste a thing! Yes he made me sign a paper right before I went under for the septoplasty. I am so happy he didn't have to use my ear. Next Friday cant come soon enough. He has my columella scar under the bandage, so I cant put any Bacitracin on it. Do you think it will be visible by the time I go back to work on the 27?
