1 year post op w Sam Naficy

1 year post op w Sam Naficy

Postby catheal09 » Sun May 29, 2016 6:44 am

Alright, just going to summarise my terrible experience with Sam Naficy here.

I selected him based on his advertisements of natural rhinoplasty results, and he provided me with imaging that was a very subtle change to my nose. I was sold. When I arrived in Seattle for my second consultation and first in-person consultation he sounded completed different and uninterested.

I was naive and thought I must be overthinking things..

Woke up to a SUPER short upturned nose. The caste came off and it looked really wide. For a good 6 months he and his patient coordinators said it would drop down and it was wide due to swelling. A bunch of liars. He placed the tip so high. I'm completely sure he forgot what I had asked for because he didn't have my morph with him during surgery.

He has now confirmed that I need the strut shortened, nose deprojected, hump shaved and breaking of the nose to achieve my original request. He has also made it completely clear he has no interest in doing it, and said to find someone closer to me for the revision. Not that I'd let him touch me again anyway.

It makes me sick to think I've lost most of my sense of smell, I have a rock hard nose, and I'm 12k poorer because he just did whatever he wanted. Couldn't he take 2 second to look at my morph???

I will find someone more competent and caring for my revision. Avoid Naficy!!

I had the exact same experience with Naficy except my surgery was a revision. I have the same upturned tip problem which looks terrible as I am a tall male. I have a number of other problems such as my bridge is crooked and I have many visible grafts popping through my skin. I hope we can find a good doctor to fix our issues...

I had surgery with him in June. I'm a month out and I already know I will need a revision. My tip is SO upturned. I wanted a natural look and got the miss piggy look. It's devastating. Would you be interested in sharing photos? Dr. Davis is on my radar for revision. This really sucks doesn't it, I was really beautiful and natural before and wish I had never done all this :(

I am so sorry this happened to you. I am in the same situation with the same surgeon. Have you scheduled a revision? Which doctors are you considering? I'm so scared to go under the knife again, I still have to wait 10-11 months for my nose to heal before revising, but I know I will need secondary rhinoplasty. Let's chat via email if you want, it will be good to support one another xx nahlawolf@gmail.com

Wow that's so crazy. I can't believe we all got the same thing, did you fall for his fake realself reviews as well? I don't have any crookedness or visible grafts, but I hate the way it looks. Have you consulted with anyone for a revision??

Sent you an email. Yes I'll have a consultation with him, I have also looked at Lucion Ion in London.. I hope that I click with a surgeon straight away because I don't want to have endless consultations.

I found out from my revision surgeon that Dr Naficy used bone to create my nostril rim grafts. He said if you cut too far back into the septum you remove some bone from the face, and this is how it becomes a graft. The strut was too long which is why it was poking me. The tip graft was "huge". My revision surgeon demonstrated with a cue tip to show how much space there should be inside the nose, and said the graft is pushing the soft tissue downwards. He said I had an impressive amount of scar tissue. I know from reading Naficy's reviews that his patients have fluctuating swelling for about a year, so my revision surgeon said it's probably his technique.

Dr Naficy butchered me.

It must be a relief to know from a competent surgeon what Naficy did wrong rather than just knowing something has gone terribly wrong and coming out with something totally different to that expected. I'm dying to know what my surgeon (not Naficy) has done in butchering my nose too. Hopefully the damage could be fixed and you can put this horrible nightmare behind you :-)

Dear catheal, I'm sorry for what you have gone through. I had surgery with Dr Naficy recently and I'm really worried.. I haven't been able to look in the mirror for weeks.. Seeing so many unhappy patients here confirms my greatest fears. Are you happy with your revision??? I will contact you privately.

Same here...really bad experience with this doctor. He did not butcher me but he made a nose that was extremely different from what we morphed and discussed, and it ended up being so intolerable for me that I ended up going to another surgeon to try to fix it. When I returned to talk to him about my concerns, he did agreed to revise the nose again but quoted me a large amount of money which their office said was discounted. It should have been proposed free of charge (minus the operating room charges/anesthesia fee) in my opinion. I would not trust that this doctor will do in the operating room what you discuss with him during your consult.

Sorry to hear about your outcome as well. Where does he get off charging so much for a primary, AND THEN charging to revise his own work when it looks terrible? What a greedy man.

Just an update. It took 2 years but I finally got an apology and refund from Dr Naficy. The apology was fairly insincere and and he lied a couple of times on the phone. But hey it's something. ;)

but at least this doctor has had the courage to refund the patient and apologize, which is not cheap.

He didn't do it willingly. Don't give him any credit.
