Before you go to Lodolo check out - I believe other complaints on PSJ - not just one. Plus if one person is treated badly - I believe that is worth paying attention too. Also, is there other places to check complaints - I know the Mexican Board may not know of all the complaints on a doctor or doesn't tell. I've called on one who I was told has no complaints only to find out otherwise. Maybe some people don't put in an official complaint or there is so much red tape? I don't know but check everyplace you can, and if you learn of places to check share with others. I feel for the pain of those who have not had a good or even fair experience.
Hi - I just found this thread and would like to report a "postive" experience with surgery I had done in South Africa a few years ago. You can find info on this surgeon, Dr. Lionel Jedeikin, at these websites:
This doctor has a wonderful bed-side manner and is very caring to boot. He called me from overseas, post op, to see how I was doing, as I had to return to Europe with some minor complications. He even phoned a surgeon for me in Switzerland, where I was living at the time, and set up my post op visits. He's even been featured on CNN.
There have been a few women who had reported their bad outcomes with Mario Lodolo on the PSJourneys.com site - you may want to check it if you think of going with him. I feel so bad for the one woman who is being vigilant to getting her story out about her botched experience which should be allowed to be told everywhere. This is what research is about. If people want to whitewash everything then how can we learn about all possible choices and opinions?
PSJ is a wonderful resource and it's worth persevering to get in. It's a shame that the site owner has not delegated one of the regular participants with the ability to approve new members. She's pregnant now and not too interested in the site it seems.
If you get free basic membership you cannot use the search function. For an annual fee of $35 you can save time by searching posts for specific doctors or procedures. The site has changed a lot since I first joined in August of 2006. I don't even bother reading the General section anymore as it's mostly gone to the dogs--especially if you're looking for facial procedures but the individual country sections are still good.
It is very provincial to think the US is the only place you can get good work done in the world. There are tons of horror stories on this board by people who used US docs, even those with good reputations.
I did work in costa rica in 03, and know several people who went there (Rosenstock clinic in san juan with doctors cohen and rashi - a family of doctors runs this very nice clinic). I arranged it myself after doing tons of homework and checking out former patients on a forum in yahoo groups dedicated to this topic.
If you use an intermediary or 'arranger' of travel and surgery that many are referring to, realize that person will get paid so your costs may be a little higher, but if it makes you more comfortable, go for it.
In doing your homework be cautious of 'touts', ie people who have a vested interest in steering you somewhere or are posing as patients when they are the surgeons staff or their marketers. Several real patients are your most credible sources of information.
You need to stay minimum of 10 days post op, sometimes longer, to make sure you are ok, have all stitches and drains removed etc, and are safe to fly, esp if your flight is long.
(I had f/l, bleph, and some tooth veneers in CR, you can see my before/afters in the yahoo groups if you join. I am thrilled with my results and facial appearance. Now my body is another story and I am going to get that done too , soon. )
I have been in Plenitas in Argentina and after my excellent experience with them I'm obliged to share my happiness of choosing them.
I got a breast implant plus lift and some lipos. They performed everything in the same surgery. I'm so happy!!! I paid less than a third I'd pay here in the US. The surgeon, the facility, Plenitas' service...everything was excellent.
I can't do less than recommend them to anybody that needs a plastic surgery and needs to save money.

Yes, and I wouldn't recommend it. I used Clinica Robles in Buenos Aires, Argentina through Gosculptura. Dr. Robles did a pretty good job on my breast augmentation, but I'm now 7 weeks post-op and have lumps on my stomach from the liposuction (they employ the ultrasonic method). Today I had a consultation with a Physician here in Seattle and was told my stomach was abnormal, either because of scar tissue or because the fat was not removed evenly. It does not look good and I am self-conscious, mad at myself for not doing more research on Dr. Robles, and not looking forward to shelling out even more money to fix this problem. Bottom line is you get what you paid for. I left Argentina 10 days post-op and honestly felt like the backdoor hit me on the way out. I do not get the feeling the Doctor nor his translator/ assistant cared a lick about my issues because once I left I was no longer their problem. I would not recommend Gosculptura and if any of you do choose to use their services, make sure you really research the Physician you will go with, because I didn't and now I regret it.
I ACTUALLY WENT TO TIJUANA TWICE. THE FIRST TIME WAS FAT TRANSFER TO BUTTOCKS AND LIPO. MY EXPERIENCE WAS GOOD, RESULTS WERE GOOD AS WELL, JUST NOT EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED. THE SECOND TRIP WAS TUMMY TUCK AND BUTTOCK FAT TRANSFER TO TOUCH UP TO MY SATISFACTION. SECOND TRIP WAS A DIFFERENT SURGEON. COMPLETELY SATIFIED WITH RESULTS. IM FROM THE EAST COAST AND TRAVELED ALONE EACH TIME. BOTH VISITS I STAYED AT LA CASE DE LILA'S, IT IS A PLASTIC SURGERY RECOVERY HOUSE RUN BY AN ANGEL FROM HEAVEN, I LOVE HER. HER NAME IS ELENA. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS GET TO SAN DIEGO AIRPORT AND SHE DOES EVERYTHING FROM BEGINNING TO END. TRANSPORTATION, MEALS, BATHING, LAUNDRY. HER PLACE IS IMMACULATE. I WOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET THROUGH MY EXPERIENCE THERE WITHOUT ELENA. BOTH SURGEONS WERE GREAT AS WELL. FUENTES & PANTOJA

I, too am interested in anyone who has experienced GoSculptura Argentina. I am looking for a full face lift (with eyes, neck and endoscopic brow lift), then in about a year, a tummy tuck, and breast lift with augmentation.
Anything good OR bad to report ? Thanks !!! Lisa Cruiser42
I too am planning on going out of the country to Costa Rica for a TT in April of this yr 2012. Has anyone been there to have a tummy tuck? If so does anyone have any pictures and a certain Doctor to recommend? How long do you have to stay there after surgery? Anything I need to know before I go? Thanks!
Hello I have a wonderful testimonial of my facelift in Cancun, Mexico. Now 9 weeks after surgery it keeps getting better. In Canada this would have cost me $25,000.00 plus. I could not afford it. So I started some in-depth research in other countries. From Canada it is very easy to get to Cancun and actually most cities. It is safe and this included an all inclusive cost without airfare for $5900.00usd.
Now I am not into cheap if anything goes wrong with my face. So I called and talked with Sheri Burke who is the English speaking facilitator that takes care of everything. I emailed and talked with people who had my procedure done. They all had fantastic results with few complications. Dr Velasco is a master at what he does. I had 4 consultations with surgeons in Edmonton Alberta Canada and it kept getting costly and they did not do the many procedures that Dr Velasco did. I was scared but wanted it done so much. I took the plunge and booked and left in 2 weeks with my dear hubby. Included in the cost was surgery, private surgery hospital (clean and such good service) accommodations in a condo for 12 days, compression garments, post op meds and ground transportation. Every appointment I had with the doctor they drove us.
We arrived and the next morning I had surgery. Upper/lower blepharoplasty, mid/lower facelift with fat grafting to nasal labial folds. Over the night I had 3 nurses that took 2 hour shifts coming in and checking all my vitals while slept on the couch in my private room. Over the next 12 days, stitches were removed and finally staples. I could see even with the swelling it was amazing. My mud flaps over my eyes were gone and nothing tight or stretched. My mouth looked normal but my jowls gone and no gobble neck. WOW
Now 9 weeks where did that old person go? I am refreshed, not stretched or weird and just numbness. All the incisions healed wonderful and really I had not much pain at all. Look at my photos it is so good. I have sent numerous ladies over the last 9 weeks to the same center and all have had surgery done. They also do Mommy Makeovers and Arm and Leg lifts with lipo.

I think you should consider if the plastic surgerry is advanced in your country. Maybe many people will think that of the abroad is always good, but the truth is not. I think you should search the related websites and find some information about it. Because different people have different reactions.
