I went to Havana to check them out, a really famous clinic is called something like "CIRA GARCIA" clinic well, it is really famous, but the plastic surgeon (LOL), was an ass. I tried to email them, fax them beforehand, and no response, so i was going to Havana anyways .. i dropped in... So i finally get to see him, and he says, "If i look at you now, i have to charge you $100.00 , but if you send your pics by email, it cost you nothing..." so i said, "I have emailed you".. to which he responded by telling his secretary to check again, and they did find my email, then, he did look at me and did not charge... BUt as i was going along that process i asked myself, "Do i really want this guy to operate on me?" how will the aftercare be? None i am sure.. think again...it is not cheap there..

I'm not sure if this is the best way to contact hospitals regarding plastic surgery in Cuba but I am consulting with these people http://www.healthservicecuba.com/ I have tried contacting Cira Garcia Central Clinic three times via email without a response so now I will try them. A friend of mine met a patient that had just had a facelift from Cuba and said it was extraordinary. We need more info on PS in Cuba. I will promise to inform others if I decide to go this route.

My husband just had an dental implant (molar) in a clinic in Santa clara. He had the tooth extracted here, waited a couple of months, then had it done a couple of months ago. He said the clinic was clean, but wouldn't be featured in any designer-decor magazines. the guy's skills were first rate. The cost was $650 Canadian, as opposed to $3,500-$4,500 at home.

Apparently, a tiny wrench was used to install the implant. Our regular dentist suggested Hubby ask the Cuban dentist for the wrench, in case the local dentist needed to do something for it in the future.

cuba's internet service is vertually non-existant. Try hitting resend once a week. It took Hubby 3 or4 weeks to hear from the clinic by email. Conversley, try phoning. Hubby cell-phones home once a week when he's there. Sometimes the connection is chrystal clear, sometimes it awful (but i know he's well)
