Review of Dr. Timothy Marten San Francisco???

Review of Dr. Timothy Marten San Francisco???

Postby hollygolitely » Thu Feb 18, 2010 1:58 pm

I am hopeful that someone can give me a review or recommendation for Dr. Timothy Marten in San Francisco. My consultation with him went well, however I would appreciate any feedback from someone who has gone through the procedure. I am considering a neck/facelift with fat transfer. I understand the healing process is somewhat long?

Hi! So, Holly, you posted in February and here it is June and no reply. Did you go ahead and have your surgery and if so, maybe you can tell ME a bit about it because I am considering a Tim Marten facelift but it is sure hard to get any information on him.

Hope things are going well for you...................

thanks,

Again, bringing back this post from the dead...I too am interested in getting a face-lift done by Dr. Marten in SF. I am currently just looking for good reviews on him to see if he is the right choice. I read a review on him in the Tropicana Reviews but it just isn't as reliable as hearing feedback from an actual patient.

This won't be my first surgery however. I had another one a few years ago, dont in SF by another doctor who no longer practices in the city. It was a wonderful surgery. All I remember is waking up at the Embarcadero Hotel San Francisco, the place I was scheduled to recover at, and the pain afterwards was mild. It only took about a month or two to feel completely normal again.

Anyways, if anyone has feedback on surgeries done by Dr. Marten, please post!

I was told by Dr. Cynthia Goodman, who specializes in breast reconstruction, that Dr. Marten is one of THE VERY BEST, when it comes to Facelifts, especially RE-DO's. Which is what I plan to talk to him about. I had an absolutely abyssmal experience with mine, 5 yrs. ago. The surgeon, Dr. Edmond Zingaro, left me with more loose neck skin than I had before the surgery. I have been completely disgusted and sad over the experience ever since. And have not had the money for a re-do. So, I have heard nothing but positive remarks about Dr. Tim Marten.

I am schedualed with Dr.Timothy Marten in SF for face/neck lift with fat injections. I would very much like to hear from any one who has had work done by him.
Thanks,

I have been a patient of Tim Marten for about twenty years. He has created some of the best transformations I have seen. Granted the healing was not a piece of cake but worth it in the end. Before he did my facelift he told me not to expect to look very different. I have a thin face and he has (before it was fashionable) had an eye for repositioning fat on the face. Still there were pleasant surprises in the outcome. The thing that he excels in is creating beautiful cheeks.

Moreover, I have never experienced a doctor as nurturing and honest in manner.
If I can help you please email me.

If you can go to a doctor with 10 out of 10 recommendations, I would choose that doctor. Tim doesn't have a 100% records as do a few others in SF. I was one of the patients that Dr. Martens messed up on. He did revision rhino and added a chin implant with lipo under the chin area. I was normal weight. I wanted a strong bridge and he was supposed to build up my bridge. Instead he gave me a Martens "signature" nose, which wasn't at that time a signature, I think, because he wasn't great at nose jobs. He gave me a Roman or Greek nose from the history book of "beauty" since he thought this little indent in the nose would be a beautiful touch, disregarding my request for a strong bridge, which I previously had and wanted back. I had to go back for another surgery (to him) to fill in that dent. This cost me extra money for the room cost, etc. He had also erred on the chin, deciding to incise externally. This scarred and because he took too much fat out, caused uneven ripples. It didn't resolve so much as became more noticeable with age. He made wrong choices. Also, his assistant, a blond women about his age, maybe his girlfriend, had a weird rather sarcastic attitude most of the time...was offensive and it lead to questioning things a patient shouldn't have to question.

I think, that's really disappointing. Sorry to hear your story.

I know a friend that had surgery with Dr. Timothy Marten which left her looking worse than before. He was very highly recommended as being one of the best plastic surgeons in the country. She now has one eye that is a different shape to the other, even though she did not want her eyes touched! She now looks so bad overall that she never goes out. If you do not want your face ruined, please do not have any plastic surgery procedures. Its better to keep your wrinkles and age the way you were intended to instead of letting these people in their white coats lie to you that you will look better once they have operated on you. They are only interested in your money, not in helping people with their problems. They cannot make you look any better than you looked before. They will only, even the best of them, make you look worse!!

I had Rhinoplasty and a breast lift done by Dr. Marten in 1996 and couldn't be happier with his expertise! My nose turned out exactly as I wanted it to and the breast lift was a borderline miracle. He told me that if I were to ever have another child, which I didn't think I would at the time, that I most likely would not be able to breast feed because the nipples needed to be lifted up 2 to 3 inches. I'm happy to say that three years after the procedure I did decide to have another baby and I nursed him for two years beautifully.
I highly recommend Dr. Marten and am actually going to go see him soon to talk about a neck lift!

I strongly uphold Arielfonda's review.
If you are not his former patient then I would suggest not to take the risk.
