Jaw Implants

Dr. Naderi,

I have been considering getting jaw implants to give the angle of my jaw a wider, more angular/square look.

Here is a picture of me I edited, to show the sort of results I would hope to achieve by getting the implants:

Are my expectations realistic? Are these sort of results possible?

Hi,

Yes the results are "potentially" realistic. The problem is that jaw angle implants are not so much "routine" as chin or cheek implants. The surgery is MUCH more risky: Permanent nerve damage, high risk of infection, scar formation, etc.

I would reserve the implants for absolute needs. Although you could argue that "no one absolutely needs cosmetic surgery." Looking at your picture, I see no reason you absolutely need a wider more prominent jaw. You already have good definition. If you want to pursue this, you have to accept the high risk and possibility that the results will not be as you have photoshopped them.
