Question about a nose job

Postby kbear71 » Thu Aug 04, 2011 12:25 am

I have read online about reasons why health insurance would cover a nose job procedure. I have a reason, but I wonder if insurance would cover it. I have a large German nose that turns downward. The issue is that it falls in my line of vision. I see three nose tips when I look straight ahead (kind of like when you are so intoxicated that you see three of one person). It is so distracting. Would insurance assist in this situation? Thanks.

Hi,
What insurance does or does not cover depends on the particular insurance company, your particular insurance plan, the person reviewing your claim and your own persistence as a client of the insurance company. From experience, your issue most likely would not be covered by most insurance companies but you can certainly ask and perhaps if you saw an eye doctor and documented your visual field obstruction then maybe your case would be stronger but I would not bank on it.
