Is anyone here actually happy about their tl?

I know, i know its not a piece of cake to recover from TL, but i really want my legs to look better, so i m going for it. may be i making a mistake, i guess i will find that out.
i asked my doc. about scars. He said;you wont see them. They will be in a folds, so i would need to really pull the skin to see them.
Did you use silicon strips? thats what im going to use to reduce the appearance of scars. . When i had my lipo 5 years ago i couldnt sit on a toilet for weeks. So i started just peeing in a shower, as gross as it sounds. I just rinsed the floor of the shower really weel with antibacterial soaps. Actually my husband told me to do it, as he got fed up from sitting me down on a toilet and getting me up several times a day.
As for number 2, i would need to sit down, but thats not going to happen very often anyway. I ll be lucky if i manage to do it once a day after anesthesia and all the meds that make you constipated.

I am the OP and wrote about my plastic surgeon hesitate to perform my TL surgery. so I don't know all the terms that everyone is writing about in response. I didn't have the surgery, but I can describe what he told me he would do.I have loose skin in my inner thighs, and a lot of loose skin - looks like one pound on each side -it is a lot.

I lost around 100 pounds of weight and for some reason the inner thigh became one of the places where that loose skin is horrible. The front and back of my legs are not horrible. the front of my legs look okay with my skin. so my surgeon told me that he would (only if I demanded it, because he does not want a patient to go through the recovery) do the inner thigh surgery and pull it tight with the stitches right under my butt panty line (bottom of my butt, and where you bend to sit). He never mentioned my groin area at all. I see a lot of postings about the groin area and don't know what that means.

He would do the surgery if I insisted, and he said it was the longest recovery of any of the surgeries and he didn't like to do them. I asked why? He said - during my recovery I would have to be flat on my stomach four weeks to heal that area where you bend. He said that anytime I would go to the bathroom or try to sit it would hurt a lot. He said I would have scars on the inside of each thighs that would be very visible. He did a fantastic job with my Tummy tuck and my scar is almost invisible.

Maybe there is another procedure out there for just inner thigh loose skin that I don't know about -

Thanks for any help....I exercise, eat right, and for all my effort of losing all the weight I really wanted to have MY thighs not touch each other anymore.

thanks for any suggestions

I think your doc. just doesnt want to do TL. he is overdramatizing the post op period. You wouldnt need to lay on your tummy, that makes not sense to me.
As i said before i could sit ona toilet from day 1. I would put thick bath towel for 2 weeks on toilet seat, but then i took it off as i didnt need it anymore.
I m at 5 weeks now. I can walk pretty decent, i didnt rip any stitches, my scabs are gone. Scars look very thin, but bright red.
My legs look 90% better than they were before.
Of course you will have some discomfort but at 2 weeks i was driving and doing little things around the house. I cant walk quite well as i did before surgery, because of a pulling, but it is a big surgery, i ws kind of ready for it.
Really nothing extreme that you cant go ahead with it.
Groin TL, its when they dont do incision on side of thighs toward the knee. Its only where your pantilines area are. A little lower.
Depends what panties you were. It s like 1"down your thigh from a fold of your leg. Hope it makes sense. Then it goes between legs where labia is and a little under butt, but just the beginning.
Of course different surgents have different technics, but thats how mine looks.
I would find someone whos done plenty of surgeries like that and is confident that he can do it. Good luck.

I ll try to post pics.I remeber the last time i had trouble with it, something with the size.
Just before i do it, want to say that scars are very thin. Right now they are very red. On one leg scar is a little crooked, but i really dont worry about it. I had other surgeries, and once they are healed like at one year they really are just white line. They are not bumpy anymore, when i touch it can hardly feel difference with the rest of the leg.
I put silicone cream on it. Some people say its a waste of money, but i m doing just to be sure i ve done everything possible for faster healing.
Plus it has 30SPF, i livein Florida so it will be usefull anyway.
I m at 6 weeks now, i went back to work, doing very well.Sometimes during the day i even start forgetting i had this surgery.

Can you tell a big difference in your thighs? My inner thighs sag.... I wonder how much of a difference the small/inner thigh can make.

Angie, there is a big difference. I had lots of loose skin everywhere on my thighs not just inner thighs, and now i dont.
My legs are MUCH thinner. My doctor tells me i m not even 50% through with swelling(which i personally dont see any swelling, as my thighs are so small comparing to what they were), and it will get even better :) .
I asked him to make my scar 2" longer to pull loose skin from front of legs. He did what he could, i still have some cellulite left above my knees, but he said he cant go that far.
I tried my bikini already, and it covers scars when i stand, but when i moved around bottom goes up a little and i can see top of my scars.
I ll just have to wait till it becomes white, and until then i ll wear like a little wrap around piece of fabric.
Overall i m very happy. I saw results right away. I wish i could say the same about my tummytuck. I m still very much swollen in my tummy, and with incision opening right in a middle it looks like a cliff on top of the scar. So small 20 min. revision for me in 4 months. But thats a different forum.
I went to GYM first time and did my legs with lower weight. Felt sooo good. Not at 7 weeks, i walk normally as before surgery, even wore hills yesterday. Back no normal. Wish you good luck with your surgery
