Need some questions answered please.

Need some questions answered please.

Hi, my name is Ashley and last year I had a Extended-TT, arm lift and Lipo on inner and outer thighs. I am now looking to get the thigh tuck as this is definitely what I need. I tried to do it along with my other surgeries but my surgeon wasn't very keen on the idea because of the amount of time I was needing for recovery as is. (My family and I are stationed in Okinawa Japan, and I went back to the states to have my surgeries done, so I only had 5 weeks of leave time to recover.)

My question is...can someone please tell me about the scar placement and how thin or thick it is. Is it noticeable for the most part? I know they are from the groin to the knee practically, but I'm wondering how noticeable it is. I thought my arm scar wasn't going to be too bad, but a year later, and it's still very noticeable, so I'm worried about how the scar is for this surgery. I plan to have it done in about two years when we go back stateside, but would like your input on Recovery and scar noticeability. :)

Thank you
Ashley

Hi Ashley, there are two main types of thigh lifts - sometimes done together but can be done separately depending on the patient's needs. The first is a groin only thigh lift where the area just at the top of the thighs is cut. The scar runs from basically at the front of the groin and then down and inside the tops of the inner thighs. This type of lift only addresses the very top of the legs and is limited in what it can do, depending on how much loose skin you have. The 2nd type is a vertical thigh lift where the scar runs straight down the inner thigh toward the knee (sometimes all the way to the knee).... This is the type I have as my skin was lower down than just the tops of my thigh. Honestly, the recovery sucks, but the scars are very minimal. I had an armlift as well and I know the scars take a long time to heal. Don't give up at 10 months - you still have a lot of time. Mine have showed more fading from the 10-13 month mark, and I suppose they will till year 2. I hardly see my thigh scars - even my PS says they look amazing - they are def. my best scars, even compared to my TT. I would not let fear of the scarring discourage you at all.

I had my surgery 8 .5months ago. But only groin with a scar a little extended toward my hips. At first scars were very thin and really didnt even looked like scars, just a very red line. With time thoug they became wider and now they deffinitely look like scars. They are light pink now, but very noticable.
Some places already turned into very thin white line, but that happened like at 4 months mark, the rest are wider. You can see a white line inside, but there is pinkness around it.
I expressed my worries to my doctor, as i really expected them to be very thin. He pointed to the places that turned to hardly noticable white lines and said that this is what the rest of it will be but in a year or may be more.
Right between my legs there are 2 spots that are really wide, like an inch. They look awfull. And wrinkley, purple.
Also the doctor said that it should get much better.
And i m still unhappy he said he ll do revision, which is a pretty simple procedure.
We ll see what will happen.
But again in my situation my scars dont go along my leg. They are so high up and hidden between my legs, that i can wear a normal swim suit, just need to watch when i walk, because it tends to go up my hip a little.
Those spots i particullary dont like that are wrinkley, are not visible to others even at the beach, unless i widely spread my legs.
Your situation is different, scar could be thinner as its not positioned in high strain area, but of course it will be far more visible than mine.
ANyway, withtime all scars fade. I had my appendix scar that became non visible to human eye with time. Hope the same will be with thigh lift scars soon.

Thank you both for your replies. My arm lift scars are probably the worst of them all, but I am very happy with them and I don't worry about the look of them at all. People obviously notice, I have even had people stare and when I look at them in the eye, they say, "I'm sorry, I must ask though..." and I just say, yep, I've had my arms done! I love them! My other arms, before, were gross, wobbly, and stinky lol.

Thank you again though, I'm definitely looking into a full thigh tuck as this is what I will need. :)

I will never understand why people ask dumb questions?! #-o I mean, why would you ask someone about scars? I don't care how curious someone is, it's just rude!!!! Just keep rockin' those arms - who cares what anybody thinks. =D> =D> =D> =D>

I don't know if I messaged you this info or not, I'm sorry I didn't get a "notification" about your reply to this post lol. My dr was Dr. Kirbo in Tallahassee FL. :)
