I had a medial thigh lift with incisions that go towards my knees (they stop right about where a typical mini-skirt would end) and lipo around my knees/inner thighs/fronts of my thighs. I'm 8 days post-op, nothing has opened up so far, and it's really been a much easier experience that I anticipated. I think I tried to mentally prepare for agony for weeks, ripped open incisions, etc just in case.
I had an extended TT with MR and lots of lipo 17 months ago. Recovery-wise, this surgery has been a lot easier overall because getting around is so much easier being able to use my abs. Don't get me wrong, it hasn't been easy or fun, but it's definitely not as bad as what I expected.
I've still got a ton of swelling (up 8 pounds since day of surgery), and my thighs still touch in the middle. I really, really wanted them not to touch in the middle. I'm trying to be patient and tell myself once the swelling goes down and everything smooths out, maybe they won't.
Either way, it's already very obvious that the inner part of my legs looks a lot better, so I'm happy. I've got a butt lift/lateral thigh lift scheduled for mid-November.
I am 7 days post-op. I had a TT and my thighs done on 8/11. I am also anxious to see my final results. My tummy recovery has been painful but my thighs are great. The only thing that worries me is after I shower to really dry myself where my incisions are particularly in the groin area. I am guessing my legs are still pretty swollen since when the ps marked up my legs before surgery she was careful to draw her vertical lines down my legs where they would be least visable. But right now, especially on my left leg, the incision is more forward and I expect that when the swelling goes down it will be in the right place. I had a lot of jiggling skin between my legs before and I am happy to report that my thighs immediately after surgery were no longer touching! It is a great feeling and I hope that when your swelling goes down your thighs are touch free too!
I don't know if I'll have touch-free thighs or not, but at 18 days post-op, I can tell they're going to be a million times better. My PS said they may still touch with my legs together... however he also said there's only so much tension you can put on these incisions without causing other problems. One issue he mentioned when taking too much at once was gaping labia. Eek!!!
I'm also hopeful that my lateral thigh and butt lift will also help my inner thighs some. When I pick up my butt (how's that for a funny mental image), it automatically pulls my inner thighs apart just a little bit.
Either way, my body is a million times better than it was before. I knew it wouldn't be perfect, but it never was. Lol!
Just curious what your incisions look like now, at 18 days post op. Wondering how long they take to heal. Mine are so scary looking right now. Like Frankenstein. I go on Monday ton have the stitches removed but right now I have some Pickering, it guess that is because of thevswelling and lots of scabbing.

Hello all. I had a thigh lift (groin incision) only with two other procedures at the same time on last Friday (19th). I had a tummy tuck 6 years ago and I had that scar redone after losing another 60 pounds from that surgery (I had lost 60 at that point). I went into surgery a very healthy size 8 as opposed to my size 16/18 of my first tummy tuck. So far so good...drains are slowing down much faster than the first time. I also had my sides and back of bra area lifted to remove the loose skin from all the weight loss. It is so hard to not forgive yourself for the damage we have done to our own bodies. I have really worked hard with a personal trainer and losing all the weight and I had those three trouble areas. My arms are very wiggly but I am not ready for that very visible scar yet. I have no choice I will return to work in two weeks from tomorrow. I am a teacher and school starts. The first two days are without students and then only two with students before the weekend so I hope it goes well. No regrets yet, but I am worried about how the thigh lift will feel going back to work. I only took the pain meds on Friday and Saturday and one last night to sleep. I have been using the restroom on my own and washing my own hair, etc since yesterday morning. I think when I get the drains (2 in stomach) removed and compression suit off I will feel better.
yes this afternoon around 3 I will have been out of surgery four days and I feel awesome. I woke up this morning gave myself a sponge bath, washed my hair and styled it and put on make-up. I have a new style of compression garment and it is falling off. I put on bike shorts until I can get out to get something different. I have two full weeks more until I return to work and I think I will be fine. I have been icing my inner thights and stomach My inner thighs are super swollen and seem bigger than pre-surgery.
My appetite is pretty low only consuming around 1000 calories a day so far. Go to the doctor's on Thursday hoping to have drains out. I have only emptied about .5 ounce in each with a faint yellow pink color in the last 15 hours.
When I had my original tummy tuck 6 years ago....my drains were in 3 weeks and I still should have had them in longer...they drained alot....this time...not so much.
biggest challenge of this recovery seems to be worrying about my incisions for my groin thigh lift....I always feel like it will tear if I sit.
