I want a thigh lift -

I want a thigh lift -

Postby SMK1900 » Sun Jan 17, 2010 2:21 pm

I want to have a thigh lift. My PS does not do thighs - just TT and breasts. I have a ton of questions - I lost a lot of weight and my inner thighs have hanging skin. My outer thigh is fat also. I don't know what can be done even? I guess first of all I need a doctor that is great at thighs. Anyone have any suggestions for a doctor? I live in Austin, Texas. I can travel though if there is not a lot of follow up from the surgery.

I had a tummy tuck and lipo on the flanks done - and before this I knew I need the thighs done. my calves look great - but my thighs are huge - and do not know anything about it - any recommendations would be so appreciated.

I highly recommend Dr. William Davis here in Austin. Last year he did my FTT with MR and lipo in February, medial thigh lift with lipo to inner and outer thighs in October (and some upper and lower ab lipo) and my BA in November. I am pretty pleased with his work. I think out of the three doc's I chose he was the more pricer but I felt more comfortable with him than the others. HIs office staff is pretty nice as well. You really want someone with lots of experience to do your thighs.

I sent a PM for your photos so I can see his work - and I will look online for his website info - thank you for giving me a name - how was the experience though? How much pain? What did doctor actually do to you during surgery? Was it outpatient? What was recovery like?

Sent you a link to my thigh pic's.
The surgery was brutal. HOnestly. I was the most difficult one. I only had the incision in the crease of my leg, not down my thighs. I would not have done it if that had been necessary.
It was three weeks before I was feeling pretty good. I had to go to work at 2 weeks out and I'm a baby nurse. The first two shifts back were painful.
It hurt to move, sit and stand. I stayed in the recliner mostly. The first 5 days I had a fan blowing up my night gown to keep the area nice and dry. I would then use it for about 10 minutes after my shower to dry off really well.
I was able to take a shower around day 4. A hand held shower device was perfect for that. The water felt really good down there.
He glued my incisions shut, with strong sutures underneath. Supposed to decrease the chances of infection. (he actually used glue on all my incsions). I only had a problem with one spot opening up in the back. He just reglued it. Nothing more humbling than laying butt up on the table and waiting for glue to dry.
The incisions were really pukery? but have smoothed out nicely.
I took the heavier pain meds for about 3 days, then switched to E.S tylenol. I did not want to have problems with constipation.
I had a "pull" on one side that was in the mons area but that settle down at about 3 weeks.
You'll have to take some time off of exercising and walking. They are really big about taking it easy and not rushing things. I learned from experience that you don't want to over due it..
The surgery was done in an outpatient OR that is in his office building. I used it all three times. Was home by 3:30 I think.
The procedure was that he cut me from the front of the groin to the back. Cut off a piece of skin, pulled the facisa up and anchored it to the bone, and pieced all the skin back together. Took about 4 hours I suppose. He also did some lipo to my inner and outer thighs and abs.
Let me know if you have anymore questions.
He will tell you this a brutal surgery and not an easy recovery, not to be taken lightly. You will need plenty of time to recover. I suggest no big activity for at least 3 weeks.

Jolie..I agree with you it is brutal.

I remember a couple of months ago asking u also for advice, and in the end did have the tl down too almost the knees and around my groins.and also at the same time I had a tt with MR ...wow... I never ever want too discourage anyone one from doing what ever they choose too do , but all I want too do is say how it was for me and let others decide ,Its been 6 days since surg and the hardest parts so far for me is not really realizing how hard it was going too be , ex. you are totatly dependate on someone else for everything , not only getting u this or that , but for me it was helping me stand, helping with dressings , listening while I cried. And knowing I had too now sleep on the recliner because I had absoulty no way too get out of bedmyself , and even with him helping was brutal ..Even in the chair I need help at some times..Dropping tv controls and other little things and never being able too bend too get it ..The most embarrasing and this might be too much info for some , but I feel should be said ,,,I couldnt move because of having the tt and Mr also with eth tl , so twice after using stool softeners( which I needed too use or be consitaped , I just make it too the bathroom and even after done, still needed help ,,if u know what I mean , so I have no dignity left ..I know he is a keeper and loves me when it finally came too all this ...
Others will read this and think Im being neg and Im certainly not...I just feel others should know all this incase they think it might not be that bad ,and they dont have the support at home I had ..I would never of wanted my mom or friends too have done some of the things I had too let my sweet husband do for me ..please do your research before any of these surg .I wish you luck in what ever you decide . 6 days out and openings in junctions of groin very painful ..mine is stiched from inside and outside had steri strips,,, will have revisions next week he said once swelling goes down as its hard too pull groin up too meet sides without this happening ...NOT LOOKING FORWARD TOO THIS

Wow, Fee, a TT and TL, that is brutal. I did the arms and TT with MR. I know what you mean about having lots of help. It was almost a week before I could get in and out of the recliner by myself. I slept in the recliner for about 3 weeks for TT surgery and 2.5 weeks for the thigh lift and a week for the BA. My recliner is my friend. My dh slept downstairs with me on an air mattress or the couch. Even with my arms done I was able to handle my personal needs fortunately.
My PS had me talk with a woman who wanted to do her arms with a TL. I had to tell her that there was no way she could do her arms at the same time. You need your arms in really good shape wit this surgery.
I hope you are feeling stronger every day. Just take it easy. You can make it up to your DH later with your fabulous body.

Yes Jolie , That I sometimes wonder myself why I did both at the same time, I guess 1 was I wasnt thinking but thought at the time it would save on costs, 2 for 1 deal as in paying for hosp stay for the 1 nite ..and sec, my surg actually said it was ok too do both and if I had of wanted too do my breats and arms he thought it all could of been done...SHI.... can u imagine, apparenlty even though he does surgery he has never had any .I could never imagine doing all those at once/

Its a week today since coming home, and Persoanlly I still thank god I have my husband around off and on throughout the day too help me .I am allowed too have showers now , but tried twice and once the leg bindings and tummy bindings come off,I feel like fainting immendiatly , so the first time , hubby had too get in with me , and it lasted 15 secs, out I had too come fAST, sec time once bindings came off , I knew not even too try , so back too sponge bathing ..Then laying on the bed while he and I say he as I cant move , he puts polyspon all over my incisions ( which a few have opened up ) then rewraping with gauze pads and bandages..Ohh I know It will be some time before I can feel like doing too much ..I do get up and wipe cupboards, make my breakfast , lunch , and tidy what I can reach ( as bending over is out now ) then right back too the recliner , where i also sleep ..ohh the things we put ourselves through ...ill tell u 1 thing , this whole experience has shown me if I start putting on weight again ,,what can happen and Im never going there again ..
I hope that by others reading this it will also open there eyes, as too think before they leap .
I hope all goes well now for you .Fee

I wonder if is it a good choice to have thigh lift. If it's safe then I may do it too.

I think it's just as safe as any other procedure, but recovery can be rough compared to some other surgeries. I had a vertical incision thigh lift and I had no issues other than a few days of pain. The thigh lift has done wonders for my legs. I can't wait to wear a bathing suit this summer and not feel self-conscious.
