It seems like most on here with it have it on their incision. Mine is around my belly button and T-cut. I'm very curious to know how this is all gonna scar since it is smack dab in the middle of my tummy.
sorry , I dont have any experience /advise for that......I am sure tho , that you will be ok ...and you will have a nice flat belly, and cute bb..
Hope someone can ease your fears , and share their story.
First, I want to tell you how very brave I think you are. You may not feel that way right now, but you are! And you WILL survive this ordeal!
Well, it seems we have a situation on our hands with this necrosis. I have seen it on the BB before, but not as deep as yours. Once all the yellowy stuff is gone, you'll begin to see nice, healthy tissue underneath. I didn't get a good look at your T incision, that's where I had mine. It healed nicely. I'm sure your PS will revise that area so that any scarring will be minimal.
I know this time is not easy for you or your family. We consider necrosis to be the worst thing that can happen with this surgery. When I spotted mine, I cried the whole day. Had a good old fashioned day of mourning over my less than perfect results/recovery.
But we can't stay there. We have to gather ourselves and be proactive in our care. I did it and many others have as well. And you're doing it too! And good for you for not shrinking away from the board. This is exactly the place you need to be, getting support from your TT sisters.
Remember that we are in this fight with you! You don't have to do this alone, none of us do! And pretty soon, you'll be the one educating another lady on how to take special care of herself. Follow the instructions your PS has given you, and ask tons of question of him. You'll need to know all you can from him. And from the girls here. We'll give it to you straight every time!
At least tomorrow I get my drain out, one less thing to worry about.
So the yellow stuff coming out means it is beginning to heal, correct?
I'm very concerned about the redness around it. Will that die, too? I also still have that bruise above my belly button. I'm hoping that isn't dead stuff under my skin. If so my whole belly will be eaten up! PS said it was bruised from the lipo, but I'm just so scared right now. It has been over two weeks since SX, seems like it would be gone by now, course that bruise didn't show up until nine days later...
thank you so much for your post to my daughter....it made me cry. (don't mean in a bad way) You will never know how much I appreciate your kind words to her, please stay with her though this, we don't have a clue what is going on, what to expect and how to proceed.
Sorry, I've been gone today. My revision was to my BB, I had lots of scar tissue from the surgery, and it was closing up. My necrosis scar is the smoothest part of my incision. I'm not going to touch it. I've popped a couple stitches already, so we'll just wait and see what happens.
I'm interested in knowing what your Ps's next move will be. Many of the girls have had the yellow stuff removed by their doc. It's called debriding. That will give you a clearer indication of how deep the wound is. You may also have to do this more than once. Since I didn't have it done, I'm hoping that the other girls will chime in as well. Has your PS recommended this?
Listen, if you don't get a clear understanding that this is something your doctor can handle, (how much experience has he had with necrosis?) I would look into getting a wound care specialist. Many times plastic surgeons are not the best able to help the wound heal.
I think kelseybel is working with one, and melbear? (can't remember which mel it is), maybe jermaine? These ladies and others have dealt with necrosis on a larger scale than I have, and will provide much better info. Have you been in contact with them?
Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere! I couldn't if I tried, and believe me, I have!
Thanks Veronica. I go in tomorrow. He saw it for the first time on Friday. Acted very calm about it, like it was no big deal. Course, I know better form here. He had me doing viscopaste on it all weekend. Didn't say anything about what we'll do next, but believe me I'll ask him tomorrow. His assistant said something to me like I'll tell you where to buy more viscopaste on Monday if we decide to keep with it. So who knows? I hope they have a plan!
I did wound care. Best thing I ever did. I don't post as much But I still read the boards. You guys have got the necrosis treatment down. Also if needed just PM me if you have any questions. I do check my e-mail. Melbear also did wound care. My PS worked with my wound care. Most PS just want to cut it out and sew it. But go to wound care insurance will cover it since it is deemed medically necessary now. But if you have the yellow you have fatty also. Mine did go down to the fascia.

Lipo 7/ 26/05 and 1/21/06
TT 9/21/06
Scar revisions from necrosis 4/3/07, 1/8/08
Necrosis free and had second stage of revision. Still have one more too go.
I went this morning. I got my drain taken out at least!
He said the spot on the bottom is superficial and wants me to continue doing viscopaste there. For the BB he has switched me to some algae thing? It looks like cotton. I stuff it in my BB in the morning after my shower and it dissolves. At night he wants me to take an epsom salt bath and then put the viscopaste on both spots. I go back Friday.
I asked about debriding and he said there wasn't anything left to debride. Don't know about that cause there is still some yellow on the outside of the BB. DH think it looks better, you can see some red tissue now. My BB is like a huge tunnel. Totally gross.
PS seems to think two weeks to heal? I dunno... I asked about wound care and he said let's wait and see how it looks on Friday, he seemed optimistic, but said if I wanted he would send me to wound care.
Trying to be positive. DH seems hopeful, but I'm still a little unsure.
