Go away seroma!!

Go away seroma!!

Postby amys3yungins » Fri May 29, 2009 1:03 pm

Someone please tell me that seromas do finally go away!!! Anybody not have theirs drained and it go away???? I don't think it is getting bigger but I am supposed to see ps next week so I am sure he'll decide what to do. The nurse tells me that most seromas resolve on their own. I need some reassurance! :?

I can't give you the answer but I'm interested in it too. As my belly is filling back up again. I won't see my PS till Monday and I'm sure he will drain it again.

Oh bother.....

On the good note that eventually go away. It took mine three weeks of twice weekly draining in a very large needle and another week of seeing what was going to happen before the PS opened me back up and messed with the seroma (cut it open and burned the inside) then put a normal drain back in. The drain came out a week later and I've had no problems.
I'm told the trick is to keep the seroma as empty as possible so the sides can close off (seal) and quit producing fluid. That's why I don't understand why some PS let it stay filled. I'm sure small one's can "go away" on thier own but wonder if they would heal faster with more frequent draining. By the way, mine wasn't super huge, but big enough for worry I suppose.

I did not have mine drained, and I no longer have the waterbed feeling.

I do have some hardness, but I am only a month out, so I am giving it time. Seroma's can go away on their own :)
God's tomorrow will be better than any yesterday you have ever known.

I don't have experience with that (yet anyway.. ) but I wanted to pop in and say I hope it disappears on it's own very soon.
